Why the hell is this the first time I've mentioned Wrack? I really want to bring it up a lot, but obviously I'm a bit rubbish. Remember when shooters were all about lubing up, slipping and sliding through intricate corridor mazes, and slaughtering enemy after enemy in an almost rhythmic manner? Wasn't it bloody awesome? Final Boss Entertainment, the brains behind Wrack, certainly do remember, and in an effort to jog our memories they've designed their fast paced shooter with older sensibilities.
Bobby Prince, Doom's composer, is lending his audio magic to the proceedings, which will undoubtedly send me back to being a kid, hunkered down for hours playing that particular hellish adventure. It might not be much to look at, though I for one love the cel shaded aesthetic, but damn does it nail that speed and gleeful mayhem. It's in alpha right now, but you can pick it up now for a 33% discount on the final price and get access to the latest build which is being frequently updated. It's up on Desura right now.
