Excuse the lame use of "wowza," but my brain is mush right now -- you'll understand as soon as you watch this 4-minute gameplay trailer for Red Dead Redemption. If you haven't been paying much attention to this open-world game from Rockstar, now is the ideal time to remedy the situation.
There's such an information overload present in the video, I can hardly decide what to talk about. I think what's most exciting to me is how we'll have the choice to be a real saint or bastard in this great western setting. And no, I'm not talking moral systems here.
You get to lasso people and then drag them from your horse. From your horse! April 27, you need to kick it into high gear and get here asap.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Man, it couldn't be truer. Having played Red Dead Revolver and being totally "meh'd" by the entire experience, I had no expectations for this one. This video has changed that. And that is an understatement.
There really wouldn't have been many Americans out west in the early 19th century. Most Westerns take place in the late 1800s.
Also, the deadeye aiming system is from Red Dead Revolver, so I guess CoJ did copy it from somewhere else (I'll take your word on that, I've never played it).
They did a great job with the first one. Aaaand it looks like they are going to do a great job moving it into the sandbox setting. I can't really be more excited for this game.
I bought the original game sometime this year but still haven't put it in my PS3. Let's just say that statement won't be true for much longer after watching that trailer.
@Arrested: Be warned. It's not really like Redemption at all. As a level based action game with duels and a variant on bullet time, it's still a great game though. Oh, it also has one of the worst stealth levels I have ever played. When you get to it...you'll know.
Awesome, I was skeptical at first but this is all I needed... and a lot of parts did remind me of GUN (Random missions to do, exploring and wildlife hunting or hunting you, etc.) Not that its a bad thing though... I liked GUN.
Great little promotional video, like a mini-infomercial that never gets tiresome. All features of the games were explained without spoiling the experience and it made the game look appealing, it made me want to buy it, even if it ends up sucking like many an infomercial product. Why don't more companies do this 4-min. or so format for upcoming games?
thank you rock star for making such excellent fucking games!
4 months isnt to hard to wait. but i have a feeling there will be a delay.
if so then i think 3d dot game heroes could hold me over a few months.
also red dead revolver was originally a capcom game wasnt it? then rockstar got it. thats why it seemed a little off. they had to redo some of it etc.
but it was still a great game.
Holy hell cold this be my ultimate game of all time?
It's an open world world and I am an open world girl ... or boy.
I truly feel like this is the game I've been waiting for - it looks fantastic.
I love the Western setting, but I passed on Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood due to its linear nature. Can't wait.
Wow. I wish more trailers were like this, but then again, most developers probably have to avoid making trailers like this because their games aren't going to live up to the hype.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I mean... wow. Just wow.

Can not wait for this now, you cant see it but Im smiling so much right now. Dead eye Targeting is back!!! BANG BANG BANG!
Red Dead Revolver did it first.
The openworld element looks really good, was that the player character in the swanky white suit? Good...Bad...Im the guy with the gun.
Hope they see fit to put some multiplayer in there.

did anyone else notice that the game appears to have major frame rate issues ? i honestly wonder if they're succeed in polishing that out.
