I dont think that best buy understands that gamestop sell not only games but accesories for games and soon tablets (of they do that now i cant remember) and you can use you credit for anything gamestop sell in the store just like bestbuy but gamestop just doesnt have as much because as everyone knows they cater towards gaming and there isnt as much stuff for gaming as there is for computers and home appliances and tvs and I think I could keep going. I guess what I'm trying to say is that bestbuy is stupid.

I think it's kind of sad that we devalue games so fast. I'm not complain since I practically dumpster dive to get my games. I just think it's odd how hard people champion the products then for some reason have no problem saying they are worth less or lesser experiences after only the smallest amount if time passes. Mass Effect 2 is from 2010 who in their right mind would would pay 52$ for that?! Guess I just wanted to throw that out there

For a company that takes over 70% of their revenue and profits from used sales and trades, it should be called "pawnstop". I worked for them once in the holidays and they have a nasty cut throat corporate culture. The employees are treated poorly and are fooled into thinking that if you work for then, you can get ahead.

I wouldn't sell my games to Best Buy either, but that is awesome. Gamestop has got to be one of the worst companies ever.

Thank you for the injection of common sense and personal experience. I know it's just human nature, but people are way too quick to apply blanket generalizations.

I know I'm admitting bias here, but our particular Gamestop has been complimented a LOT in the last two years as we've worked to improve our customer service by a staggering amount. Yeah, we still ask about pre-orders and our subscription cards but give us a break, that's our job. Don't act like an uppity asshole when we do our little spiel, just politely decline if you are not interested and hear us out if you are.

3 out of 5 Gamestops I have around treated me like I was a moron for asking if they had a Odin Sphere copy (it was a pretty old game when I got around it) besides offering too little for used games and charging a lot for them. Best Buy never has any sales that interest me and are overpriced in a lot of items anyway. I say they need some competition so I'm glad to see this (even if it's old).

Applaud this if you like megastores that shit on employee and consumer rights. Wal-mart might get a lot of bad press, but Best Buy is just as bad if not worse.

I've known plenty of friends that worked Best Buy and the shit thier management pulls on both sides, so I only go there for things as a last resort.

I dunno they sorta pushed my "don't shop here" button back when they were charging people to update their PS3s, you know that free PSN/Firmware update that Sony puts out .......

They could have offered it for Free and won some massive good will points .... but nope...

Everyone knocking bestbuy trade-ins are idiots. They pay the best and have actually 'rented' games for free with their good tiv promotions. Work the system, don't let it work you.

So I just went to the bestbuy site and I was able to enter the name of my games and it woul tell me how much I would get. It was a little more than gamestop by like a dollar or two and if you were trading in a 360 game the trade was worth 2 more dollars. I see that as a fuck you ps3 owners. where as gamestop the trade value sucks all round.

I once went to BestBuy to trade in a pile of old games I didn't want anymore. Their website said they were giving an extra 15% or something if you trade in more than three games. They also had trade-in values on the site, which I used to calculate how much I'd get. I later went in to the Best Buy, and the clerk gave me an estimate of something around $50, which was less than I'd calculated at home. I told her about the deal on their site, and she didn't know about it and had to call someone else. After about half an hour of eaiting around, she told me that the trade-in values already had the 15% added to them, even though you wouldn't necessarily be trading in enough games for the bonus.

I'd planned to use the money to fully pay off a preorder, so I told her I changed my mind. She assured me that GameStop would give me less, but I decided to stop by anyways since they were close by. At GameStop they gave me over $120 for the same pile of games. Fuck BestBuy, they're 100 times worse than GameStop is.

Good. I found out BB was taking used games on accident before they were really plugging the service and found a calculator to see how much they will give you. I would average over $10 more dollars on any game ie: $25 @ GS was $35 @ BB and so on.

Though I still usually go to the local gamestore Gaming Generations because it's cheaper(new games are usually $5 cheaper to start) and they usually match BB's prices. GAMING GENERATIONS!!! (shamelessplug)
