Worms XBLA finally not crappy enough to see the light of day photo

It seems as if the certification process for Worms on the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade has been a real back and forth nightmare for developer Team 17. But, it's all over now, because Microsoft at last gave the anticipated game the final OK. From Eurogamer:

Team 17 marketing director Martyn Brown told Eurogamer the good news earlier this morning, but admitted a release date has yet to be confirmed.

"We're not sure of the date just yet - it's only been certified for about six hours! - but I imagine it'll be a few weeks given the line up," Brown told us.

Despite the ongoing delays in burrowing towards the elusive certification, Brown remains positive about the overall experience, telling us he had enjoyed making Worms for XBLA. He also revealed that he hoped the Wakefield-based developer would be a part of future downloadable projects.

I'll be playing this more on Xbox Live than most of my retail games.

If Microsoft is so damn particular about their Arcade games, how did SF II and UMK 3 see the light of day?

With all their griping about the certification process, they better have totally nailed the multiplayer portion of this game.

If online sucks, however, Team 17 ought to start getting ready for a whole mess of trouble, including but not limited to:

1. insults,
2. tar,
3. feathers,
4. mob justice,
5. death by hubba bubba,
6. death by hubba bubba while being forced to listen to REM, and
7. etc...

(etc... will always include a "REM by force" portion in addition to any other form of torture let loose upon the devs.)

I'm mostly kidding, and have a very good feeling about this game.

It's 2007. If they can't get online right for a game as simple as Worms, Team 17 deserves to have a sheep detonated in their office. Anyone know if it's gonna have a leader board?

Hopefully it will be good and priced reasonably at say, $10. I haven't played a Worms game in awhile, but this could be quite fun over Live.

@Kariomart: Also, this game has been remade several times. You'd expect a lot of refinement to have been made to the series by now.
