Worms arrive on Facebook in closed beta
Those wacky Worms are on their way to becoming socially acceptable. Team 17 has announced that a closed beta test for the upcoming Facebook version of their classic artillery dueling title, Worms, has begun. Fans of the aggro annelids can go sign up for entry now, as players will be added to the beta daily. I've signed up, but I doubt this social version of the game will see very much play from me in the long term (despite my being a huge fan of the series) just because I'm likely to forget that it exists in the huge cloud of constantly moving content on Facebook. Team 17 is planning to keep adding new content and items, which should keep the game fresh for those who have the attention span to stick with it, though, and the simplicity of the design has a lot of potential on the platform. Anybody get into the beta yet and had a chance to check it out? Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)As long as this is full blown, actual Worms, and I don't have to post on 10 of my friend's walls to get a Holy Hand Grenade, this might be a Facebook game I actually play. This would be awesome and get me to install my first Facebook app ever If the multiplayer is asynchronous (both players dont have to be online for the person whos turn it is to take that turn) and you can watch a replay of your opponents last turn 9:00 AM on 05.22.2013 People actually like the Maverick Hunter reboot conceptSome time ago, we learned off a rather odd project from Capcom -- a gritty Mega Man X FPS idea that never saw the light of day.
