As you
found out yesterday thanks to Ashley, GameStops all over the country will be hosting special
World of Warcraft launch events tonight. Unlike any of the other GameStops though, the San Francisco event is going all out in the
WoW celebration.
The
Powell Street GameStop store will be shutting down Powell Street between O’Farrell and Ellis Street tonight from 7:30 to Midnight. There will be several
WoW themed activities for
WoW lovers to participate in while waiting for the Midnight release of the game such as:
- Dancing contest
- Do your best Warcraft couture in the Lunar Fest Costume War
- Bid on WoW swag at the Azeroth Auction House
- Meet members of the Blizzard team
- Hands-on with Wrath of the Lich King
- Games and prizes including dance lessons
- Food and drinks including a special WoW Brew.
Wow. Sounds like a lot of … fun.
Husky Hog and myself will be at the event tonight filming the festivities along with members of DtoidSanFrancisco. If you’re in the area, stop bye and say hi! I’ll be the jerk asking people if they’ve ever seen a vagina in real life without actually having to pay for it. YAY STEREOTYPES!

Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.
