World of Warcraft restaurant opens in Beijing photo

Oh the irony ... a place where you eat out, dedicated to people who don't go out.

Despite this obvious marketing flaw, a World of Warcraft restaurant has indeed opened in Beijing, China. The establishment's interior is designed to mimic Blizzard's world-crushing MMO, with artwork from the game surrounding diners. The restaurant's entrance is even designed to ape Warcraft's opening menus.

On the subject of menus, the food is all renamed to give off a Warcraft vibe, and the main dining area is known as the Hall of Snowstorms. The owner of the restaurant -- himself a big WoW fan -- is hoping that others like him will find a "comfortable gathering place" here.

Activision Blizzard to shut his whole operation down and force him into bankruptcy in five, four, three, two ...

Of course to properly capture the true WoW experience they would need to force you to actually hunt down, kill, skin and cook your own meal. Then pay for the privilege.

Whilst all the while random people from other tables would whisper in your ear, asking if you could give them some potatoes for free.

I've never played WoW, only seen it, but I must say wow!

If Activision isn't getting their piece of the money pie you are right about saying bye, bye.

Maybe this will get a few of those hardcore players out of their house before more of them starve to death at their PC.

What the heck, I've been living in Beijing for 16 months, and finally left just 2 months ago. I'll be going there in February when my Visa to Korea expires, I'll let you all know how it is.

Here's a video from youtube that CCTV9 aired, the only English language channel legally aired in China, and run by the gov't (like everything else)
