Yep, you read that correctly. Everbloom, a player on the U.S. roleplaying server Feathermoon, has reached level 85 without killing a single thing and completing only one quest. One that involves just opening an NPC's letter. How? By grinding professions. Everbloom recommends the experience, saying:
"Being on the ground and sneaking around mining and herbing and eventually archaeology, going everywhere to get every single point of discovery xp that you can, really gives you a chance to see an amazing world up close and personal. I spent hours swimming around reefs and flying to the farthest reaches of the maps.
"If you like to explore, and enjoy a challenge I really REALLY recommend this, I have been playing since day 1 on other characters and I even have an original Loremaster (you know, back when it was hard) and I saw so MANY new things with Everbloom that it really made it worthwhile for me to continue on with this character, and each level was a major achievement!"
If you want to join his or her (does it matter?) new adventures, you're invited to join <Peace Corps> on the Antonidas server, a 0 kills guild to which the player has transferred to.
WoW player reaches level 85 without killing a single mob [PC Gamer]
Though I wouldn't bother with it.
No, but seriously, that's actually pretty damn awesome.
killing things and going on raids is a big part of playing..
Hit a nerve there son? lol
Yeah...FUCK having fun and doing things you like to do in a video game.
This man has some real dedication, and deserves brofists.
That's patience.
rofl do you not recognize the irony here? This guy spent hundreds of hours in a computer game so he could roleplay GOING OUTSIDE
Us sitting on couches, twiddling our fingers
To call some of what we do "unconstructive" is a bit of an understatement
Sure, you have to be a virgin, your skin is completely fucked up from not getting any sun and you shit in your own coke bottles because who the fuck wants to get up to take a dump?
@Devin Miller: Any accomplishments that you're proud of other than getting your first pubic hair? And MW2 achievments don't count.
Back in my intro to gaming class, they taught us how in MMOs there are 4 player groups. I remember only 2, the PVPer and the Explorer. and dam this guy is one insane explorer lol.
But what if I don't believe this? That picture up there isn't hard to make. So unless there is clear proof, I deem him No achievement points
Like trolling the Internet? Is that what gets ass these days?
Props to the player for bothering though, I guess.
I don't play many MMO's, but if I do exploration is always my favourite aspect. It's just more relaxing than most forms of gameplay after a long day at work.
Seriously, this is pretty clever - turning WoW into a stealth game. Brings back memories of when I started playing on a PvP server back in the day - questing in contested areas was really a stealth action game, only you weren't hiding from mobs, you were hiding from the other side's high-level players! Good times.
I don't play WoW these days, but props to this player for their achievement. Blizz should award the character a special title.
Mad respect to a guy that found a way to creatively enjoy this game. It's tough being creative in a sandbox with little to do but grind.
That is an awesome achievement. I love exploring and sneaking in WoW myself, but I don't think I'd do it from level 1 to 85.
