If the expansion came out in the original time frame it was intended to (in November) families and loved ones would still be groaning for the same reason.. So really everything seems to be right in the world, if a little late..
Yeah, was tickled to death when I saw it this morning. Unfortunately my MiA blog is running very late and i need to get to work on the next installment. I've been spending A LOT of time in ICC and Gold Farming preparing for Cata over the past few weeks.
A lot of people play WoW like a drug. That makes me sad. On the other hand, people who only care about getting loot and stats and such are the ones who we have to thank for the game's longevity, so that even after I haven't played in over a year, it's still there and fully supported...unlike some other MMoRPG's.
That said, I started with WoW in the closed beta. Back when there weren't talents, you instead had trade-in points for various stat boosts and abilities. When Stranglethorn Vale wasn't even finished, etc., etc. and other bragging. I'm positively more excited for this expansion than the other two. I like the idea of expanding the original lands rather than just tacking on additional worlds (and that includes the Blood Elf nub and Dranei islands). The Worgen and flying mounts in Azeroth seals the deal.

I work full time, I hang out with my closest friends, I actually have time to fire up the PS3 to play console games, etc. The assumption that every WoW player has no life is insul... actually, I won't say that. It is a broad generalization and a foolish insinuation.

I'm vaguely tempted to pull my old troll rogue out of storage to give things a look, but at this point The Old Republic is right around the corner. I'd really rather just wait for that, I think.
So, how will the ten heroics in Cata Differ from the ten heroics you had to grind repeatedly in wrath?
I have been playing wow off and on , when cata hits i am on a year break since ilast played.
lucky i know myself and never swore to play again, becaue i know i like the game but i get bored quick with farming same content over and over again.
i will def check out the expansion even if it only gives me a few weeks fun its still worth my money.

I play WoW. And I still have time to watch my massive list of TV shows, 100% every decent console game that is released, read on average one novel a week, work 60 hours a week (50 in the office and 10 at home), put time aside for my hobbies, spend time with my partner, and have a monthly bbq get together with friends.
I don't see what the fucking problem is. If WoW gets boring, I leave until something interesting entices me back. If I'm tired, I go to bed. If I'm busy, I don't play. If I have guests, I entertain.

I pay $60 for a new 360 game that I play for a month or so, then move on to something else. I guess paying $40 for a new WoW expansion, and $15 just to play it, still is a bargain if I get at least a month out of it.
Who am I kidding? My 360 games don't call to me from their cases saying "You know, you already paid for this month, spend every waking moment playing me to justify that cost."

And having seen both.. friends being fucked up by drugs and wow, I actually prefer drug addicts to wow addicts any time of the day..

Lol so many games are being pushed to spring 2010 so it doesn't conflict with certain big box games (COD again sigh and WoW). Its because of you WOW that the games industry will be cluster F***ed when spring comes !! (WOW is like the dragon everyone is scared of)
