The WoW fans I knew had prebought the game weeks prior.

The Worgen zone is the only good zone and after that its becomes very repetitive and boring just like it has been for the past 5+ years. Old content was revamped with some new zones mixed in but in all, its the same thing people have been doing since TBC expansion. Like I said, all hype.
@Nero: I was going to bitch and moan about how I hold down college, 2 jobs, and decent goddamned hygiene in addition to WoW and "bawwww stereotypes", but then I remembered that I wouldn't have been caught dead at one of those launch parties anyway. Your point stands.

I haven't had much time to spend with it because of exams, but every second so far has been an absolute blast.

Wrath of the lich king really only offered content for characters that were level 70, while cataclysm offers something for characters of all levels.

Cataclysm is excellent. People really need to try it before they knock it.
Like Pangloss said, it's different than launch. Basically, they have the difficulty that was present during Vanilla/part of BC - combined with all the sick streamlined features they worked on for 6 years. It's a great combo.

Holy guacmole...how much do these expansions cost? 20,30 bucks? That's a whole lotta cashola...I played wow about 3 years ago..got bored after a month and a half or so...I'm not knockin it, I enjoyed for a while. Just lost interest
I think this is tr first time playing WoW since Vanilla that I actually enjoyed doing the quests. The low lvl quests (*cough* Undead starting zone *cough*) make you feel like you're actually contributing and the high lvl quests (80-85) make your character out to be a total badass.

I've gotta say the only thing that really pissed me off about this was that you had to get the expansion to fly in azeroth... I mean I won't be spending much time in the end game stuff and I don't really want a worgen or a goblin, but I am forced to buy it out of laziness...

Nonetheless, I don't exactly know WHY Cata sold so much. 90% of the content was given away for free. I'll still be working through that for months, so I won't get ANY benefit from Cata yet.

I bought my copy of Cata Digitally the night before, I only had a 900meg dl and then I was good to go. Most of the cata patches were pre-loaded. Blizzard did a very good job with the release of this expansion.
There are a couple of buggy quests here and there. And big problems with the High Population servers having Queues up to 6 hours long(Most realms with this problem have been offered free transfers to Low pop realms)
Other than those few issues the release has been pretty smooth.

Maybe it's cause I haven't hit 85 fast enough (I've seen people complaining about just that, and not for themselves, for others) but regular Cataclysm dungeons take so bloody long to queue for...but I'm enjoying the questing so it's not so bad.
The instances are more fun to run through, they increased combat time and added more "events" in boss battles so it kind of forces you to pay attention, which isn't something DPS had to do much before.
Plus you get to quest with and for Indiana Jones...

I am a die hard gamer, but I firmly believe that most of the negative gamer stereotypes are rooted in WOW players. Dis-interested in opposite gender, no lives, live in parents basement, poor hygiene, no social skills, overweight....etc

@shamurai7 What about the complete retards who screams at you when you play halo, call of duty or battlefield? What about the ppl who plays starcraft like they were living for it or any other games? Or the ppl who watches TV everyday for hours. Or the hardcore PC gaming fans vs the hardcore console gaming fans. Retards are everywhere.

Its pretty nice so far, though I do with that the LFG ques for a dps would be less than 45 min, but thats a player problem not blizz's fault.

Just remember that when you're playing WoW just think of a hamster running in a wheel. Buy yet another expansion, pay $15 per month, grind, raid, find better gear, repeat over and over again. There is no end. I was sick of this game within two months of playing it.
