I played Vampire and other World of Darkness properties for a long time during high school and I can see where it'll be a lot of fun, but the premise of having to actually run things in a city if you make Prince is pretty intimidating from all angles (even as someone who doesn't want to lead but would have to put up with who does end up leading). Its one thing to have you friends play towards such ambitious roles, but its another thing to have some guy completely across the world do it.
If they let us end up as Werewolves I might be down, working in packs/tribes may not be as intimidating, but it doesn't sound like its clear yet which races (not the right word exactly, but I'm at a loss at the moment) we can end up being besides plain humans or vamps, even if it does hint to the fact that there will be more.
Regardless, there's facets of this MMO that I really want more info on... how deep the politics get, how you choose the prince/primagens/elisiums of each city. Can you start your own city? How is the gameplay split between combat and politics? Can you be hunted out of the city for conniving too much or breaking the Masquerade? How do you choose your generation?
I assume you have areas for the Sabat and areas for the Camarilla. How are wars between Sabat and Camarilla or between clans settled? I personally think it's enough that just Vampires are involved; there's plenty of conflict there as is, though I wouldn't mind if NPC werewolves were mixed in as well.
Does pre-production me they haven't even started though?
Pre-production means they're still in the planning stages. Not building levels, but writing up documents about which cities they want to build and what their high-level goals are for the game. They added character models and walking to EVE, so their engine guys can play around with that sandbox from a tech side.
@Stigmeyer
You never know. All three of those are painted photographs, as I recall.
Sign me up.
Like for example whenever I get the urge to jump back to EVE for a bit I always find myself immersed in that universe, the fact it's all other players driving the economics and content of the game and not simply a case of 'this is your town hub, this is the dungeon queue of the same dull dungeons, and these are raid dull raid instances that suffer from cases of Dallas syndrome and recycleitis, oh and here's some inconsequential PvP content we try to make popular even though it'll always pale in comparison to Arenas as arenas are the cancer that killed world pvp' and well, other than making a swing or 2 at a certain fantasy MMO with a slowly degrading fanbase that it doesn't really deserve I really can't wait to see what CCP do with this, and permadeath sounds pretty hardcore...
Where do I sign up?!
of course it'll probably be AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGES till this comes out
