I don't know if you know this, but Call of Duty is kind of a big deal. You want cold, hard facts to back that up, do you? How about this little bit of knowledge: in one weekend World at War's newest map pack, Map Pack 3, was download over 1 million times. That's a big number and puts it in fine company with its brother and sister, Map Pack 1 and Map Pack 2, which also sold like candy at a fat kid convention on their respective debut weekends. Evidently, this means that all three map packs combined together have sold 6.5 million copies. It's Christmas time at Activision.

The third map pack featured monkey bombs, new maps and more zombies, all of which seemed to make it very popular. Then again, I'm pretty sure that by this point Activision could take a dump in a box and label it Call of Duty and people would buy it. More like Call of Doody in that case. Am I right?

Wait, come back! I haven't asked the obligatory closing post question yet. So, are you one of the million? There, all done. Go ahead on your way.

I am not one of the million to buy that map pack, but I am one of the million to appreciate your Call of Doody pun.

No, I am not! Activision will no longer be getting my "precious" MS points.. also, the Call of Doody pun you used, that what I say all the time when I invite my friends; "Hey, wanna play some Call of Doody?", "You do? Awesome" Lol

And to think they almost called the next one "Modern Warfare 2". This game, in a completely different setting by a different studio, outsells the previous one, despite the general consensus that Modern Warfare was better. Yeah, sure, the CoD name isn't important. Some marketer was probably fired for that near disaster.

I always wonder how such boring games can be so popular, and then I remember Counter Strike Source and CS 1.6 each double the population of TF2 at any time...

i finished World at War this morning. It's an awesome game. The Nazi Zombie Mode is awesome too, but i would never spend 600 Microsoft Points for each Map-Pack. Its a fucking bummer, that you have to buy those Map-Packs in order for you not to get the "You don't have this Map"-Screen of Death while in Multiplayer-Mode.
To answer your question: NO I'm not part of the 6.5 Million people.

I never bought it because I don't own the game, yet it is on my 360 and I play it often.

The only thing I'm interested in is the Zombies, I once played this crappy mini game where you're a soldier in world war 2 or something, but it was shit. Der Reise is probably the most fun Zombie map.

Congrats to Treyarch for this, They did a great job with this game - especially since they need to put up with so many people needlessly bitch and cry about them and compare them to Infinity Ward. This should (but wont) shut them up.

I was wondering how many of these "Numbers" include when you are trying to load the map and it makes you have to download it again? I love the new maps but I hate having to download the maps over and over...

I'm not a fan of DLC, but these map packs are great. Lots of variety and what not.
