Let your words do the fighting in Word Fighter
Ever felt crappy when you talked the talk, but couldn't walk the walk, getting beat down by some punk ass and exposing your meek nature? Well fear no more, as the guys at Feel Every Yummy have got your back with their new game Word Fighter. It was ranked as one of the top ten submitted games of PAX 10 and Nick, Max and Tara had a whale of a time with it way back in March, with the game being described as "Street Fighter meets Words With Friends." Now the two-man team have released a debut trailer where the Street Fighter/Final Fight inspired theme that existed when the guys played it has now changed to a more high-brow, Sherlock Holmes-esque feel, with brawler characters replaced with "Literary Masters," and the battles commencing in elaborate study rooms rather than dirty sewers. Personally I'm digging it and can see the endless word possibilities creating some potentially hilarious hijinks and YouTube videos in the future. Word Fighter is due out for the iPad, iPhone and Android this Fall. Word Fighter Debut Trailer [Couchbound -- Thanks, Derek!] Did you know? Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)It looks like fun. Would probably get it if I had an iPad, not really a fan of playing games on the iPhone. Oh. You find words and shoot your opponent with them. Damn, I was hoping for some kind of vocabulary-inspired fighting game... Looks kinda fun. Though, I would have liked to play the original concept of Street Fighter meets Words With Friends. HADOUKEN! (Uh, it's Hadoken, bro!) HURRICANE KICK! (Uhm, actually, it's Tatsumaki senpukyaku..) etc. I'll pick it up if and/or when it's free, just like Words With Friends. I thought they were going to spit some hatred on the streets, but this is a much better concept.
Wondering if Hemingway is one of the secret challengers now... awww I wanted to see an EVO next year where instead of fightsticks all the competitors have their keyboards in hand. More like Final Fantasy teaches typing. Is there anything unique about each Character rather than their look? You know, special attacks like Melville (cause he should be in the roster) summoning Ahab with a giant harpoon or there being words that heal and debilitate characters. 11:00 PM on 05.24.2013 Ninja Theory's latest game is Fightback for mobileDmC: Devil May Cry and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West developer Ninja Theory has turned its focus to mobile gaming, at least for right now.
