Wolfmother, QOTSA rock Guitar Hero 5 DLC in October photo

Activision has unveiled its Guitar Hero 5 downloadable content plans for October, and they include five weeks of rock n' roll, baby.

From Queens of the Stone Age to Billy Squier, from Wolfmother to the J. Geils Band and Peter Frampton, you'd better be holding on to the edge of your seat for this invasion of rock n' roll. Baby. • “Avon”
  • “How to Handle a Rope”

Woah, guitar hero is releasing DLC on a schedule? Too bad it won't be compatible with Guitar Hero 6, releasing Holiday 2009!
/sarcasm

Seriously, it's good to see some DLC for these games, seriously.

None of this is from Songs for the Deaf. Post irrelevant.

Sweet fuck, are you kidding me? Three tracks from QOTSA's first album? I can't believe Guitar Hero is actually doing something awesome for once. I hope some early material makes its way over to Rock Band. Their debut was the last Queens album that I got around to listening to and I'm pretty sure it's their best.

Ohhhh snapples. I might have to spend money on DLC for a non-Rock Band title now. Especially that Halloween pack, Astro Zombies needs to be at every Halloween party ever.

QOTSA!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad I don't have, or plan on buying, GH5. I hope RB steals these tracks away.

Damn! Not to disregard QOTSA or Wolfmother, but Marylin Manson's only good song, Beautiful People, is finally released for a game and it's not Rock Band. I couldn't care less about that guy, but I still want that song.

Don't forget that Wii also supports track packs since GH5 (it might be only available on GH5, but I'm not sure now, as I still don't have it). It costs 550 Wii Points.

Yea I'd have to agree. I gave up on Guitar Hero a while ago. I did get to try the GH5 Logitech Drums at Fry's Electronics. Very nice.

As for QOTSA, one of my favorite bands. Rock Band must get on with the gettin.

@Sharpless and to think I asked for "Avon" last month on the GH community site. :D

Goddammit QOTSA, get your ass into Rock Band. We've only had the lackluster track pack from almost two years ago. And the thing is, they have Avon. Fucking Avon. Fucking awesome, except for it being in Guitar Hero. Fuckity fuck.

Man. I thought their dlc would be mostly Garbage like World Tour's, but all of these are fantastic, even if I don't like some of the bands.

Just chipping in to say that there's another 5 weeks of DLC for Guitar Hero that I don't give a fuck about.
That said, the same's been true of Rock Band as of late.

That is all.

Sorry Guitar Hero, but Rock Band already has all of those bands (Frampton and Misfits notwithstanding) and Queen, Iggy Pop, and White Stripes on the way. That, and I'm too lazy to swap discs to play Guitar Hero.

GWAR! GWAR! GWAR! GWAR!

I'd love to see these guys as in-game characters. How awesome would it be to play as BalSac the Jaws of Death in the inevitable GH6?

holy shit there is ONE song I want on there, awesome

all this entire fucking press release means to me is that there is a possibility of misfits in rock band

GOOD GH5 DLC!? YESS!!! THIS SHIT HAS HAPPENED!

Praise Eris for choices! Still I'll probably hold out and hope RB gets 'em but damn is that a nice lineup.

Squier, QOTSA, and Beautiful People are all on my list. I'll have to hear Wolfmother. So far of what I've heard from Cosmic Egg I think Wolfmother was better. But we'll see.

Damn... I was really hoping RB would release a Halloween pack this year (here's to hoping). Would rather have Lordi tracks than GWAR though...

QOTSA is the only thing I see here. On that note, Rock Band needs a track pack 2... or a debut album download. Make it so!

Hats off to you Guitar Hero 5 but I hope more QOTSA comes to Rock Band.
