Wolfenstein hits Steam, demo available now too photo

The best Nazi shooter ever released on consoles in mid-August 2009 is available on Steam. That’s right -- Raven Software’s FPS Wolfenstein has come to Valve’s ever-popular digital distribution service. Price at $49.99, the title won’t offer more than its console (or even PC) counterparts. But, hey, it’s downloadable, right?

In slightly more current news -- Wolfenstein was released yesterday -- a PC demo is now available as well. So, if our review didn’t give you enough of an impression of the title, feel free to grab a playable glance at FileShack or your demo download station of choice. Just try not to be surprised by how mundane it is.

It was a fun rental on 360, but I think I liked it mainly because I liked RTCW so much. I couldn't see it bringing any new fans to the series.

Rent it or wait until it's $19.99 but I wouldn't pay $50 for it, especially with the weak multiplayer (not that I know that from experience as I could never find any games online).

It's €59.99 for us Belgians, and presumably a lot of other euro countries.
Convert it and you have a whopping $89.57 as a price tag, here.

Fuck off, digital distribution.

(Oh, and the game costs 45 euros retail, which is below the average PC game. WTF went wrong with the pricing?)
