The balance of MvC3 goes out the window when you're really good anyway. It has its own "Marvel" balance but in the sense of a traditional fighting game type of balance it's pretty ridiculous.
I'm guessing people using the touch screen controls is practically the same as someone using simple mode on consoles with the one button combos, special moves, and hypers.
I only use Simple controls. It's something that helps make the game fun for me as I'm not that into fighters to put the time in to learn a few fighters moves.

Cool I guess. The combo system for most of what you're doing isn't much harder than your basic beat'em up action game. Its the visual feedback that gets people confused and they think its harder than it is.

Simple Mode + Touch screen commands = Online community on Vita full of people no longer using proper command inputs.
Agree with Excel on this one, and actually a little concerned about what the online community for this would be like on the Vita. With 3DS Street Fighter 4, you could map any attack to the touch screen, and execute it without any kind of command inputs. Didn't like it, disconnect from the session consequence free. Unless someone sheds light on this matter, pretty much expecting the same from any Vita fighting game.

I'm sure they will break the rooms up so that you don't get matched up with someone using different controls....that makes sense in my mind but who knows.

I actually bought SSF3D and sure it was fun doing one touch sonic booms and losing like 1 out of every 50 matches or something (when my opponent wasn't DCing) but after like a week the fun wore off completely and I haven't touched the game since.
Seriously though stuff like this destroys all the depth of these fighting games and essentially kills the whole experience that I am accustomed to getting from a fighter. Your basically being cheated out of the legit experience and its kind of sad :(

You think these shortcuts are dangerous in newbies hands, there absolutely deadly when someone who plays the game on console and understands deeper mechanics gets a hold of them!
The vast majority of people I played in SSF3D seemed like they've never played a fighter in their life, even with short cuts....

I like the backtouch feature and thankfully Capcom made that mute-able in multiplayer so everyone gets a choice to battle against the type of player they want; be it tactile vs tacile, touch vs touch or any mix.
I wouldn't worry about playing against people using this because you're pretty much playing against the CPU. If you can beat arcade mode on normal then it's pretty much a free win for you :P

I'm cool with this. Annoying for online though as they for sure are not filtering the two control styles.

A touch screen gives you only one mode of input, which greatly limits your options. This combined with the attitude expressed in the headline is nothing but detrimental to any community.

Wow, and here I felt bad owning people on the day 3DS launched with Street Fighter IV. The touch controls were only mapping of specials and supers to the screen, so that you could literally dial up your best combos without having to worry about the timing.
But this? This might as well be a phone game. I'm surprised they went through all this work and didn't make an iOS version yet, tap to win.
