Wireless Xbox 360 joystick revealed photo

Dream Arcade might have the answer to your Street Fighter IV FightStick-less woes. The arcade cabinet company recently revealed its wireless joystick for the Xbox 360. It’s not available quite yet, but it should be appealing if (1) you’re not willing to pay 300 bucks for a MadCatz FightStick and (2) you’re tired of tripping over cords.

Dream Arcade didn’t release any specifics about the joystick’s parts, but we’re guessing we’ll hear more in the coming days. The company announced that the beefy joystick would be available for purchase in five-to-seven weeks.

I’ve learned one crucial thing while watching MadCatz scramble to get more FightSticks in peoples’ hands: joysticks are serious business with consumers. I’m hoping Dream Arcade gets that and can provide a viable, wireless alternative. I'm tired of kicking around cords during SFIV bashes.

I guess they are just padhacking a wireless controller and putting it in a box?

I hope its quality material. Unless there's original Happs parts in there, it's no sale for me.

@The Trout:

Happ/iL parts are (in my opinion) garbage. Carpal tunnel syndrome much? I'm sure they will be official because they're so damn cheap. The real deal for fighting games would be Sanwa or Seimitsu parts which will generally run you $60-80 for a stick, 8x30mm, 3x24mm buttons. This Dream Arcade "wireless stick" is a PoS. It's wireless because it's just going to be a hacked 360 pad. Look at the shoryuken.com forums to see quality workmanship, there are many people who will build one for close to the same price, with much better material. The fact that this has coverage on dtoid, gizmodo and other blogs is laughable

Baseball stick? phail.

I no need for another stick thanks to the TE. Still, I personally prefer wired sticks > Wireless. Don't want to be in the middle of a match and then batt dies.

another this..if it's not easily customized it's kinda gonna be more garbage. The madcatz sticks have raised the level rather high so yea. Plus if someone's really looking for a decent stick, i'd pick a hori if they couldn't find/afford the now overpriced Madcatz sticks.

@espro:

The iL Eurostick, a modified Happs, gets relatively high praise 'round the internet. I mostly mention Happs if only because that's what classic American machines used, and I still prefer the feel of the "bat" sticks to Japan's "ball" sticks. I also prefer concave buttons.

Part of that is probably nostalgia talking, though.

In Korea some places (Lotemart) are packaging a copy of SFIV with a nice looking black joystick for around $80.....for PS3 but a pretty awesome deal.
