Winter Holiday theme free on Xbox Live today

Winter Holiday theme free on Xbox Live today photo
     Microsoft

Wow. That is seriously FESTIVE action happening on my Xbox right here. Along with this week's XBLA releases, you can also download this freakishly happy holiday theme for free. It's kind of surreal and I'm not sure I would want to look at it for too long, but it's fun to grab just so you can see how your friends list has transformed.

Atheistium looks none too pleased about her addition of Christmas trees, but it could be a lot worse -- at least she doesn't have a monster lollipop looming over her head!

i don't want a free "theme" or "pic" every now and again, like some god damn dog looking for scraps. i want fairer pricing.

keep your eye on the ball, people.

@carg0

Pretty sure that no one other than yourself even insinuated that this free theme is some sort of penance by Microsoft that is somehow meant to appease anyone that doesn't like the theme pricing.

And no, I'm not trying to argue what the price point should be, just that you're projecting a personal assumption.

wish MS would have more NXE (premium) themes(with previews-i might add) since the wallpapers downloaded gets covered nearly over half the screen

FUCKING FIGURES. I JUST bought the only Christmas-eque theme I could find, the Disruptivepublishers "Mrs Clause" theme the other day. Now they put a free premium one. Why am I not surprised?

It is the only theme microsoft has made that does not suck for this new dasboard and that is sad when the 3 built in themes suck.

I'll check it out, but I'll likely stick with my "Night" theme for now.

Those aren't Christmas trees. They're just pine trees covered in snow. GET IT RIGHT.

I still don't understand themes, let alone paying for them. It adds nothing to anything. Why are people even bothering with them?

@The GHost

"projecting"? uh...no.

there's a difference between asking a question based on a prior circumstance and projecting. did you happen to notice that funny looking symbol at the end of my sentence? we call that a 'question mark'.

the only reason MS is offering this one for free is because they STILL think it's OK (3 years post-launch) to nickel-and-dime us with these themes and pics.

has it sunk in yet? they're patronizing you with this "free" theme. period.
