and tons of other anime junk also :x
What incredible insight. You are a sage, my good sir.
(Seriously though, the 'fuck you talkin' about?)
Agreed. When Jiraiya was having a flashback of his life and concluded it was a failure, I admit I was moved.
while i am disappointed with the manga lately and feel certain things have been dragged out more than they should (bleach exhibits this also but i suppose that is not relevant), i by no means find the series as a whole "dumb, confusing, uninteresting", etc. although some things such as naruto's longing to retrieve sasuke are a bit of a hyperbole, it works somehow and the show continues to be exciting, emotionally provoking and all around entertaining. and yeah, the fights are no way as awesome as those in other series such as bleach or dbz, but the abilities are semi unique and interesting to learn about (unlike other animangas that just serve as unintelligent pastiches of previous titles). overall naruto has a lot to offer as a manga and anime (minus the horrendous fillers of course) and should be given a chance. if you don't like it, that's fine, but there are more mature ways to go about expressing your displeasure in locations unlike this one (where people congregate to celebrate/positively discuss and create a series they greatly enjoy.

The show's emotional parts never really struck a chord with me because of awful pacing and cheapass death scenes where the characters never die and do "the one move that will kill them" like three times. There's a reason why a lot of mainstream anime is shit and a lot of them suffer from the same problems.
Also Gz Erica!! :3
i was also turned off to naruto in the beginning because of the talking/pipe smoking frogs and naruto's childish personality, but i put that behind me and continued watching and obviously that was the right choice for me. fantasy is fantasy.
than i assume you also despise dragon ball z since z fighters and their archenemies can be constantly reanimated somehow?
regardless, i find the never give up, beat the odds message empowering and a breath of fresh air in hard times such as that that we are all now experiencing.
maybe one day, just one day, i will check out one piece. for now i am sorry to say that a non-anime series has taken up my life--star-gate sg-1 lol.
