Windows LIVE Beta officially begins

2:10 PM on 04.05.2007

Cute puppy!

If you signed up for the Windows LIVE Beta, watch your inbox today like a hawk. Microsoft is apparently sending out notices that the testing will soon begin for the few and Vista'd. The high priestess sends this on electronic parchment:

Welcome beta participant!

We are happy to let you know that you have been accepted into the Games for Windows – LIVE beta.

The service was demonstrated on the floor at the last GDC where gamers got a chance to play Halo 2 on the PC, and Shadowrun running on desktops vs. players on Xbox 360's. Details of what game they'll be playing are not available at this time, and might get sucked into an NDA void of vermillion nothingness. Keyboard and mouse gamers -- the time to take back what is yours is now.
