Will GTA: The Lost and Damned come to PC? Looks like it photo

A new update (noticed by GTA4.Net) for Grand Theft Auto IV on PC all but confirms "The Lost and Damned" add-on will one day be heading beyond the Xbox 360's exclusivity. The patch added Achievements for the first of, uh, two DLC packs for the game, as shown above.

This of course leads us to the logical conclusion that the add-ons are only timed exclusives for the Microsoft console. But that raises the question, does this mean PlayStation 3 owners will get their day too?

Considering how quite a few games that come out on Xbox 360 and PC are still, for whatever reason, labeled as 360-exclusive, such an idea might be pushing it.

More than anything else, I'm just disappointed that this wasn't leaked by Tom Morello.

I think many of these single player PC games are just gap fillers for many PC players between playing MP games. Most of the GTA's have had bad porting issues. I'll save my $$ for Guild Wars 2 which i can play single or MP.

@Locke,

That's quite a conviction.. guild wars 2 isn't looking like it'll be out any earlier then 2011. You're not buying any games until then? Ouch.

"This of course leads us to the logical conclusion that the add-ons are only timed exclusives for Microsoft."

Yes, Rockstar is breaking Microsoft exclusivity by making the DLC for a Microsoft gaming platform on a Microsoft OS.

@DJP3DRO I'm sorry are there other OSes that have anything resembling a games market?

This DLC is as exclusive as Fallout 3 DLC. It will be on PS3, but far too late to matter. Not that it's mattered on 360.

@Derek Gillies There are other game platforms not made by Microsoft, such as Steam! So stop jumping to conclusions.

Why all the PS3 hate? They don't deserve DLC?

I thought it was confirmed that PS3 was getting eventually anyway?

It sure mattered to me, I just finished Episodes From Liberty City today, and it was a lot of fun. TBoGT was more fun than the core GTAIV game, in my opinion.

Hey, looks like I might buy GTA4 after all! I bought all the games in the GTA3 series on PC, but skipped 4 because of the exclusive DLC.

I don't plan on buying GTAIV again on the PC, but I will definitely buy Episodes from Liberty City whenever Microsoft decides to put that on PC.

I'm still very confused as to why Microsoft wouldn't release the DLC on Windows Live. They make the exact same amount of money as long as it doesn't get on the PS3.

Thank freaking GOD... I assumed this would come to Microsofts "oh yeah, we control that sort of" platform, but I was worried it would take years.

Can't wait to play it.

How does this disprove timed Exclusivity? Games for Windows Live is a Microsoft service and Microsoft profits from DLC on there. This does nothing to shed light on whether the two DLC packs will never hit PSN. If anything, Microsoft finally stopped being lazy and decided to put them on PC.

sonova! I just purchased the standalone thing for 360. If I knew of this I would have waited as I much prefer the mouse and keyboard controls.

Personally, GTA IV ran quite well on my PC, with viewing distance maxed and settings on 'very high'. I'm not sure why everyone considers it a bad port - even the medium settings look significantly better than the 360/PS3 alternatives. Gamespot did a comparison not so long ago.

It's just that morons want to run everything on the HIGHEST settings possible; what, honestly, do you expect on a 2-year-old computer?
