Wild Banjo-Kazooie site appears! Uses source code attack! It's super effective! photo

Hey guys! Rare has set up a new site for Banjo-Kazooie 3, isn't that exciting? Well, at face value, it's not very interesting at all, since it's little more than a placeholder -- at face value.

Of course, this is the Internet, so even a mere placeholder is going to be dug into, burrowed through, and ultimately torn to pieces by eager/bored fans with a lot of curiosity/time on their hands. Looking at the source code, there is information which lists Banjo-Kazooie 3 for Windows as well as Xbox 360. There is also a listing for Main, Forums, Blogs, Leaderboards and Photomode.

Wait a minute -- that's not very interesting either!

You fail, Banjoe-Kazooie 3 Web site. Stop failing!

[Mini update: Rare, by way of community manager George Kelion wanted me to let you know that we can expect updates to the site in the "very near future." Watch this space!

George also wanted me to call him a "rogueishly goodlooking lothario." That's not happening.]

I am curious why they would not release it on the Wii, since it was a Nintendo game. But hey, I loved the N64 game and I will be able to play the 360 one if it comes out. Cool.

@ Soulhammer

Microsoft owns Rare now, and Rare owns the Banjo-Kazooie IP. The only time Rare works with Nintendo now is for handheld games and to touch up games they've previously worked on, like Donkey Kong Country on GBA.

Was anyone else slightly terrified of the new "next gen" Banjo? I don't remember his teeth looking like... he'd eat your soul.

I... FINALLY got the Pokemon reference. I was like.. huh? Banjo Kazooie is using a source code attack? Since when did he become a hakz0r :S.

I used to play Banjo Kazooie on the N64 with my sister. We collected EVERYTHING and it was awesome. Sad note though, my sisters room isn't right next to mine anymore. We live in separate houses in different parts of the city because we're all grown up. Looks like I'll have to play through this one alone.

What do you mean that's not interesting? A fucking windows port of Banjo Kazooie? O_o; That would be the first non-indie platformer for PC since like the early 90's.
Of course, I've played both original games on my PC through Project 64, but still, that's not an official thing.

Yes, the fact that its going to be a Windows game also gives me the chance to play it without buying a 360.

I fucking loved the n64 Banjo Kazooie games, but the new look for the characters doesn't quite make it for me, they look a little weird.

Hasn't Banjo Kazooie 3 been coming out for like 10 years now? I wonder if they'll call it Banjo-Threeie.

With the success Rare has had with...

...hmm...

Nope. Nevermind. I just lost interest altogether.

Make a JFG sequel, then we'll talk.

Rare have said when we see the rest of the game the new style will make sense. Last time a developer used that line we got Team Fortress 2 so I'm willing to go with it.

We have Jiggies, Notes and Honeycombs. Add in Feathers, Jinjos, Eggs and Skulls then We'll know we have true Banjo.

Also @RJG. With the success Rare has had with Viva Pinata. They can still make well structured games, also this is their first major title in an existing IP since the split with Nintendo. Hopefully a JFG sequel will appear eventually, its the sort of thing the 3rd person shooter market desperately needs.

Putting that game on PC will only further the problem PC gaming has right now. Nobody will buy it on PC and then they will never try to make a game like that on the PC again. If you're going to put a non-fps/non-rts/non-mmo on the pc, it better be godlike.

What was Perfect Dark Zero?
I am happy that its coming to the PC b/c I wasn't planning on buying a 360. I always loved the credits for these games. There was certain perfect "campiness" to them.

Well, I just blew my load. In case my avatar doesn't say it, I seriously go to the Rare Witch Project and various Rare-related sites and message boards, every day, in hopes that even the tiniest morsel of new information comes out. Banjo is my second game franchise ever, next to Metal Gear, and this game is going to destroy my life when it comes out.

is Micro$oft really that desperate to get its adobe rip off Silverlight off the ground? first they make it open source, then they announce its going to be REQUIRED for the new Micro$oft download center, now they're sticking it on the games that they give the money vein to. What's next? requiring that all Xbox 360 game sites use it? Just give it up already Micro$oft stick to windows, you can't win everything.

Yes! Now I wonder when we'll get some info. Looking at the Banjo in the Jiggie, I can tell Banjo's less blocky, and I'm a little disappointed. Am I the only person who actually liked the blocky look!?

@XL1ska: Same here: I go to RWP, Mundorare, and Rare Elite

Collecting att that junk in the last games made me want to jump in front of a bus to stop the pain... Then again most n64 games made me want to do that.

Wake me when they do killer instinct 3.

And I will tell you why they do not bring it on wii so people will stop asking that damned stupid question.

Microsoft used there bucks and Bought RAREWare MAKERS of the game 100% they own them and there babies and pets and if anybody steps out of line at rareware the microsoft ninjas will kill them.

Nintendo does not want rareware or any of it's IP's anymore you will not see Microsoft new rareware making games for WII ever until they are sold again.
