Wild Arms 2 is headed to the PlayStation Network, partner photo

While nothing, in my opinion, can beat the original Wild Arms title, the second series title is no slouch. It's been a long while since I've played the PlayStation role-playing game, but from the looks of a recent ESRB rating, it looks like I'll have a chance to revisit the west once again.

Wild Arms 2 was re-rated by the ESRB, now as a PlayStation 3 and PSP game. You know what that means: a PlayStation Archives title. This isn't confirmed, but a ESRB rating is usually a pretty good sign.

This is nice! Yesterday we get news of Metal Gear Solid for the service, and last month we got Final Fantasy VII. Keep 'em coming, Sony!

I played the original and remember enjoying it, but missed this one. How's it compare with the original?

Last month? That was two weeks ago.

Although Wild Arms 2 isn't as good as the prequel, it is still a great game and a lot of fun to play.

So should I download the 1st game or get the PS2 remake? I'm very bored & doesn't seem like Capcom's going to put Mega Man Legends 2, Misadventures of Tron Bonne, & Strider 2 as PSOne Classics anytime soon.

@Zonic505 there is no PS2 remake, it's only on GameCube. So unless you have a Gamecube... I say that whittles down your choices. Go for the remake if you can. You'll appreciate the remake more if you played the first.

I loved this game so much... with the anime-like intro every time you played, and the awesome character designs and music, and the way it organised your party... Man, I would get a PS3 for this if there weren't emulators.

I loved the third one too.

@LionheartAce: Wild Arms Alter Code: F was an enhanced remake of the original for PS2. It was released in the US 3 1/2 years ago.

Anyways, should I download the 1st game from PSN?

Since I've got a 2.5 hour trip each way to my cousin's graduation open house tomorrow, might as well get it to keep me entertained. I've got $33, so I'll still have some money for other things. Bought & downloading.

I think Wild Arms broke me of my love of jrpgs. I realized how terrible the gameplay and genre conventions were to me, and I haven't played many since.

Haven't played this, but to all the people asking about the first one, it's an incredible RPG. Highly, highly recommend it.

Sony seems to be stepping up their game on this one. While I still have both discs for Wild Arms 2, it'd be nice to get it portable, so I think i can cough up the cash for this one.

Seriously, Dale? I thought the original Wild Arms was about as standard and boring as an RPG could get. I think I quit after like sixty hours of grinding and not really caring about the protagonists.
