Gameloft's upcoming Sexy Poker is basically strip poker in a videogame -- removal of female clothing as bets instead of money. But gamers in Australia will never see the game's girl's down unders as the OFLC has refused classification for this title, which essentially equates to a ban.
From a statement from the Board:
In the Board’s view Sexy Poker offers depictions of nudity as an incentive or reward to interactive game play.In the view of the Board, the impact of the game exceeds strong as except in material restricted to adults, nudity and sexual activity must not be related to incentives or rewards. As such the game cannot be accommodated in a MA15+ classification.
And, as you probably already know, Australia has no 18+ rating, so no game release. Of course, there are tons of other strip poker games, but none of them would be legal for sale in Australia. This after the loss of Fallout 3 from a similar ruling? What a crap place to be an adult gamer!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
As long as it's a casual game, they don't care.
See, games that take EFFORT, those are what you have to watch out for. Titty Card Games are ok.
Haha, they changed Morphine to "Med-X" worldwide because of Australia! I never knew that: so THAT'S why I was strangely addicted to it!
To clarify for everyone, Australia doesn't hate videogames, if anything the general attitude about them is a bit more positive than the US. The ban on R18+ games is an old relic, and for it to be overturned (like everyone thinks it should be, (including most of the Ofice of Film and Literature Classification) it needs the unanimous vote of the attorney-generals of each of our 6 states. Unfortunately, the attorney-general of South Australia is a douche-bag who thinks that adults who play games are weird and contradicts himself every time he tries to explain why he won't give us R18+ games.
*sigh* unfortunately, he's appointed, not elected. So all we can do is look forward to his retirement (he is pretty old).
Oh, and usedtable, it's Australia, not Britain

I know this because I live in Australia.
Maybe you should get your info from an Australian, rather than an anonymous website.
