Despite Capcom being one of only a handful of third party developers to have done the Wii any sort of justice, bitchy Wii owners love accusing the company of not caring. Apparently, Capcom is obligated to try and bring the likes of Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5 to the Wii, despite the obvious stupidity of such a demand.
Capcom at least needs no excuse when explaining why Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Bionic Commando: Rearmed won't come to WiiWare alongside the XBLA and PSN versions. According to the studio, both games are simply too big for WiiWare's restrictive file sizes. The only way a Wii owner could play these games would be if Capcom released them on disc -- which isn't really efficient.
"Part of the reason HD Remix and BCR are digital is because we don’t believe they’re the right content for the retail channel (at least, not as stand alone experiences)," explains Capcom's Christian Svensson. "The economics would be highly unfavorable as compared to their digital counterparts. And Wiiware, we’re finding, only works for titles built from the ground up for Wiiware as the lead SKU given the filesize restrictions.
"... [SFIITHDR] couldn’t ever be WiiWare, even at 480p. File size is just too large given the storage restrictions for WiiWare. Theoretically it could be disc based but there are no plans at the moment."
Svensson has also addressed the demand for SFIV on the Wii, saying it would be possible with "reasonable visual downgrades" but also questioned the use of the Wii's control scheme with such a title.
Personally, I don't know why Wii owners care. If you want current-gen games, get a current-gen system, it's a pretty simple equation. Stuff like the current Dead Rising port shows that if you want a 360/PS3 game on the Wii, all you're asking for is a nasty, ugly shadow of a game's former self. Why people want that, outside of a childish need to have everything regardless of quality, is beyond me.

I love it when developers shit on the wii, seeing Capcom call them out it great. I can never forgive Nintendo for catering almost exclusively to non-gamers now.
The Wii is the console that many kids too poor or too young to buy their own consoles end up having because that's what their parents were willing to buy them. It's the current-gen "living room console" of choice, that means it's all that some peoples' families are willing to buy.
Maybe they'll do a collection disc sometime in the future of Bionic Commando, SF2, and whatever else they decide to cram on there.

Long story short, the Wii is sucking because the hardware isn't good enough. The Wii is sucking because developers are putting enough effort into building quality games for it. It's possible, it's just not happening enough.
But regardless of price, the 360 just isn't a living room console. Almost all of the games on the thing are meant to be played for hours on end, and even worse, online. Knowing that, the Wii and it's plethora of mini-games and multi-player titles is a lot more appealing for your average videogame hating parent than a 360. Even the PS3 isn't a loathsome to them, thanks to the Blu Rays.
Considering the 360 Pro is about the same price as the Wii it's fair to say that Wii owners have enough money to buy a HD console. And a similar argument could be made for the PS2. I'm sure there are many families who are too poor to afford any of the current gen consoles and it has the largest install base. Should there be a PS2 version of RE5 and SFIV?

The one thing that burns my Wii-only ass is that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom isn't coming here for a completely different reason. That would certainly take the sting off.
I still don't know why people ask themselves that stupid question. Not everyone wants the same things as you do, and they're totally within their right to buy, play, and like whatever they want to. Not everyone wants to play as bald space marines shooting things!
And my mission for between now and the Japanese release of Tatsunoko vs Capcom is to use homebrew to get the game running on my Wii. If I figure out how to do it, I'll PM you.
I love my PS3 and my Wii, and I'm hoping that a 360 will be under the tree (that is, if my wife got the hints), so I can play this game anyway. But the anti-Wii attitude of people in Dtoid really pisses me off sometimes.
The wii is gaming for people who don't like gaming, like Nickelback is Rock Music for people who don't like Rock Music.

Wii's probably the most popular console, and no developer wants to take it seriously. So yea, I kiiiiiiiiiiiiinda care about the games that come out for the console. It'd be wonderful if Nintendo would give them the space for HD Remix or Bionic Commando, but that's a blame I place squarely on Nintendo, since I know Capcom wouldn't hesitate to put their games on as many consoles as possible.
That being said, I can't wait for Tatsunoko vs Capcom to come out so I can play the hell out of it! =P

If you want a particular game, you have to get the system that the game is designed for. There's nothing unrealistic about that suggestion. I find that statement convoluted, and a bit ironic. First off I don't think many Wii owners are accusing Capcom of not caring. They simply think Capcom could be doing more on the Wii that's all. You know the place where RE:4, and RE:UC both sold well over a million copies on the system. So why wouldn't Wii owners want at the very least a RE:5 side story game. We know Capcom can do incredible visuals on the Wii when given a big budget, and a big dev team. Just look at Monster Hunter 3 for proof of that so why shouldn't the biggest install base this gen want big epic good quality games?
As for bitchy Wii owners complaining about what they're not getting. I find that ironic considering the 360/PS3 fanboys where all freaking out, and up in arms back in July when it was reported in Nintendo Power that MM9 was coming exclusively to WiiWare. We now know that was only a time exclusive, but for two weeks or so you couldn't go on any video game message board an not see the whining, bitching, and crying of PS3/360 fanboys. All upset at Capcom for putting MM9 on the Wii, and not their platform of choice. It goes both ways Jim so don't act like only Wii owners complain about not getting certain games on their system of choice!

In all serious, I enjoy my wii, when it's not sitting there, collecting dust, glowing blue like it has been since I last played Brawl. I like Animal crossing, just not enough to buy it a third time, and it probably won't get powered back on until MadWorld or The Conduit comes out. There just isn't a steady stream of quality games that are being released for it for me to take gaming on it seriously. I'm still waiting for this revolution Nintendo promised, and making puppies bark to Madonna isn't about to cut the mustard for me.

Nintendo will say it was to keep the cost of Wii down, but I'm not buying that anymore. Even a few gigabytes of flash memory would have been worth it, to be in Wii's guts. Now we can only imagine what might have been.
Good games can still be created for Wii, and I still want a Wii but I'm glad I have a 360, so I can play those games beyond what Nintendo offer. At times it seems Nintendo make consoles for themselves first and others last. It shouldn't be this way and they need to learn that its not all about them.

Well there are quality games on the Wii including many for Capcom themselves. If people like you choose to ignore them that's fine its your choice. If you don't like the Wii that's your prerogative (even though you probably haven't ever played one) but whatever. Who cares?
You don't have to like it, but that doesn't mean the 850,000+ people who bought one in North America last month don't like it. Those people who are now apart of the biggest install base this generation like the Wii just fine, and that's really all that matters in the end because guess what? I mean, if the Force Unleashed AND Sonic Unleashed can get Wii down-ports, why can't Resident Evil 5? Just call it Resident Evil 5 Unleashed and watch the money roll in. You know that if RE4 sold a million on the Wii, RE5 would sell even better.
Sonic Unleashed for Wii and PS2 was developed by a different studio, and developed alongside the current-gen versions. You can't really compare that to Resident Evil 5, which has a huge budget and one studio sunk into it.
It's not just a case of saying "O hai, we'll downgrade some graphics and shove it on." Capcom has already said that, pushing the specs of the 360 and PS3 as it is, a Wii version would be difficult to make. It's Capcom's call whether or not that difficulty is worth it.
Or better yet, why can't M$ and/or Sony just hurry up and get their Wii remote rip-offs finished. I said it before and I'll say it again, the Wii would cease to be my console of choice if the other guys would just hurry up and steal those pointer controls.
I never play mine. My GF (the reason I ddnt sell my wii long ago) has only just started playing it again, after a 3 month drought, but that won't last long because she just realized that, yet again, Animal Crossing is like the EXACT SAME GAME. Now she's pissed at them too.
When you don't put out shit for a long time, and then what you do give people is almost the exact same game theyve been playing on their DS (animal crossing), you're gonna piss them off.
