WiiWare gets vampire moles in the form of Tataite! Mogupon photo

If you listen to my WiiWare reviews on RetroforceGo!, you know that I am less than enthused about the steady flow of casual titles that has choked the service since it's inception (World of Goo being a lovely surprise amidst all this). Of course, there is a way to do casual right. Take, for instance, taking Whack-a-Mole and making all the moles vampires. Bam, I'm interested.

The game is called Tataite! Mogupon, and sends you thrugh a variety of utterly ridiculous levels such as moles swinging through the jungle on vines and flying around on little spaceships with helmets on. Sure, it's still simple, but 500 Wii points you really can't complain about having something this quirky lying around to show friends when they come over.

For now the game is only scheduled for a Japanese release (in November). I want to pretend I'm optimistic about getting a game like this here, but the week it comes out we'll probably get another less then thrilling puzzle game. Really, everything is better in Japan.

How would this work though? Point at the screen, hold down the button, and then swing the remote to bash them? Or just push the button while aiming at the mole? Seems a bit steep at $5 if you ask me, which still makes it a better deal at that price than most games on WiiWare.
