Wiitards have no case!!! photo

Looks like Wiitards are screwed. Despite the ridiculous determination of lawyers to try to find a way to blame Nintendo for people's inability to firmly hold a controller and move around simultaneously, the argument seems to be failing. 1Up featured Nintendo's offical press statement in response to the allegations yesterday, which reads as follows:

"We believe the lawsuit to be completely without merit. Nintendo has a long tradition of delivering high-quality products and excellent customer service, and we take all reports from our customers seriously."

"At the time we became aware of the lawsuit, we had already taken appropriate steps to reinforce with consumers the proper use of the Wii Remote and had made stronger replacement wrist straps available. This suit has had no effect on those efforts."

Clearly Nintendo has been around long enough to know how to cover their proverbial asses. Dumbasses of the world may have to refocus their energy on a slightly more vulnerable target. On the other hand, the tongue in cheek instruction manuals that Nintendo has distributed in Japan make me think that they find the Wiitards are very funny indeed. I have no doubt they're laughing all the way to the bank. Ho ho! Stupid Americans!

ya they are idiots, i have said that since the first incident, but hey if it happened to me, i'd at least try to get new tv or whatever broke repaired from them... as for additional money who knows...

but the lawsuit is with merit, especially since they admitted fault with recall.... now is it worth a lot of money to the people filing suit, no

This is another one of those "I fucked up but I want someone else to pay for it" occasions.

nintendo has a decidedly "un0kiddy" attitude when you start fucking with their money. they have pWned many a legal n00b in court before.

This is like the case of the fat woman suing McDonalds because she got fat. I would THINK some people could learn to keep a 3 feet diameter (or more) away from the person SWINGING the remote. Wiitards is the correct term for these people.

Where are you getting your information? They admitted no fault and there has never been a recall. I'd love to see you materialize some links to these statements.

I'd bet nintendo learned to keep a good legal team on call after the whole Donkey Kong/King Kong fiasco.

Let me guess, in which country are lawsuits trying to be made against Nintendo? No wonder Japan are laughing, they think the wiitards are hilarious. What next? Sue tennis racket makers when someone accidentally lets go of their racket? Wiitards give Wii a bad name.

I think the last time Nintendo lost in court, the penalty was issuing $5 coupons off the purchase of a NES title... which meant they sold more games for their system. :)
