Also, the Hori stick IS available in the US at Gamestop as dvddesign linked to in comment #19,therefore the "average person" (to be honest how many "average" people buy arcade sticks? hardcore fighting game fans buy them and that's about it) does have access to it. In fact Gamestop.com shows that the Hori joystick is available at local Gamestops in my area so don't claim it's an import only item.
