Update! Someone has responded to the Wiili order and created a demonstration video of just how useless and awkward the Wiimote is on Windows to a newb. With some practice I'm sure this can become the #1 way to surf for porn. Check out the video below -- all jokes aside it's actually pretty interesting stuff. With an expected 4 million consoles in homes by next year and Bluetooth adapters retailing under 10 bucks, we might see one clever PC attempt to embrace a full solution in the box -- a usb Bluetooth adapter and game kit under $50 can happen easily. A Wiimote supported game specifically for the PC is not only plausible, it would be fawking brilliant. The buzz alone would sell the game. Carl Keener is a beast. Not only is he responsible for GlovePie, a programmable input emulator that allows you to utilize speech and boiled cats as joysticks, but he has also reportedly created a fully functional Wiimote Bluetooth driver for Windows as a little add-on to his masterwork ... without actually having a Wiimote! Isn't that something? Now if we could only fix him up with this lady we could have a far more interesting development.
Disclaimer: Australians don't have Wiis yet, so this driver may have some birth defects. However, Keener believes it should theoretically work because he followed a published input schema to map the controls. If you're curious, there are people experimenting and exchanging notes with him on this forum.
Remember, you'll need a Bluetooth adapter on your computer to attempt this, which you can pick up at Nuevo Huevo for about 20 meseta. If you successfully get this working, let's see some Gates-cringing action! Wiimote Minesweeper!!! Seriously though, it might be wild to try PC FPS on it. Just don't punch your monitor.
