Sorry, but the WiiU is nowhere on my radar. They have shown nothing that appeals to me as a gamer. I bought a PSP before Sony knew what they were doing with it and I got rid of it accordingly. I'll never buy another console before the company making it knows what the fuck they're doing with it (hence I yet to buy a Vita, mind you).
All that remains is a flimsy launch, weak 3rd party support, and a buttload of unfulfilled promises of "things to come".
the real important stuff will come out in the 2013 christmas, like the 3DS did last year.
I won't be buying one right away, anyway. I'll wait till the price goes down.
Sigh.. The "wait for the games, before we give you a promised feature".. Honestly, if those games never get made, or too few come to the table, we can kiss this feature goodbye..
@Forsakeneyes
Because duel gamepad support wasn't even going to be a thing till people got pissy when they saw it at last years E3 and bitched about it.. And then it took Nintendo till November to say they were thinking about it, and till this years E3 to really confirm it..
So.. yeah.. thats not a ton of time to go back to the drawing board, despite the fact that dual gamepad support should have been a thing for *the console* from the start.
@Timtheterrible
I'm going to be real honest.. Unless they come out of left field with a really amazing reason to own one (and for me, we haven't) I'm not even considering getting one for about a year and a half, to two years.
Reason being is I'm one of "those" people (though not nearly impassioned to lose my shit over it) who went all wild finding a Wii thinking Nintendo was going to change the way they handle consoles, only to wait almost 2 years for more then 3 games that I wanted to play to be released, and learn along the way that most of the 3rd parties bailed on almost all their projects for the system after all of the hype that they had tons of 3rd party support for that system. They're going to need to prove they're going to support the system AND that the 3rd parties aren't going to bail on them (The ports however are painting a bleak picture)
As The Who say, I won't be fooled again.. Specially since the Wii wasn't the first time Nintendo had fooled many of us.
