Wii Party to feature 80+ games, including hide and seek photo

Wii Party has already been outed as Nintendo's next big mini-game collection, and thanks to retailer HMV, we have our first details on what to expect.

The title is said to feature over 80 games in the standard play mode, including "Remote Control Hide and Seek." In this game, players will hide their Wii Remotes somewhere in the room, and other players will have to search for it by the sound coming from the controller's speaker. Expect Wii Remote sales to soar as children hide remotes in places they will never, ever be found.

Also detailed is a "Wanwan Karuta" game, where the Wii Remote will make a sound and players will match the noise with an on screen image (like an animal, for instance). In "Sensitive Bomb," players will pass a single remote to one another like a bomb, keeping it as still as possible as to not trigger an explosion. Nintendo has previously mentioned that more standard games like Bingo and Roulette would also be included.

While Wii Party has yet to be confirmed for a North American release, it's almost certain we'll see it make an appearance at Nintendo's E3 conference on June 15. When they announce it, act surprised, and try not to be too shocked when they do an uncomfortable on-stage demo of "Sensitive Bomb."

Between the title and the header image, I can already tell reading this article would make my blood boil. The fact that Nintendo propagates the "party-style" gaming market is un-fucking-believable to me.

Actually sounds pretty fun, combining real life and the game.

Yeaaah No. No. No.

If it's better than Mario Party 8... then maybe...

You don't have to buy it, acknowledge it, or ever look at it.

15 of these games will be copied by third party companies into a full fledged game.

Hopefully this means there won't be any room for Wii Music 2 at the conference, right?

That said, this looks to be filling in the market Nintendo loves pretty well, without being as insulting as Wii Music. There are actually some creative uses of the Wiimote in there it seems, so for the people who buy this, I anticipate they may actually enjoy it.

But still, not my bag. I'm hoping for something else to be the major showing at Nintendo's E3.

Nintendo will mock this by having Ravvi Drums guy appear on stage and then several more people prance out with Miyamoto while playing one of the mini-games.

And someone in the audience will run out screaming.

I do actually like the sound of this.

Hide and Seek could make an extreme dorm party game.

@sofik88,

HAHAHA!! I read that article and I ALMOST think it has to be a joke. WOW, you can arrange your own versions of public domain music! Can you even make your own original stuff? Because everything I've found online is just arranges versions of the crappy selections already included in the game. Regardless, this really just looks like an updated version of Mario Paint music, if anything.

Oh, and the LBP analogy is horrible. LBP has an excellent single/multiplayer component from the get go, as well as thousands upon thousands of user-made levels that YOU CAN ALSO PLAY.

Just because WiiMusic has a little more depth than most people think, that doesn't mean that public opinion of review scores would have changed at all had it been general knowledge.

It's still something that only MAJOR music geeks would have any interest in at all, and that's reaching at best. I have plenty of music-theory-centric friends and not a one of them would choose a free copy of WiiMusic over a PAY download of FruityLoops.

Why waste your time with this limiting piece of crap when you can ACTUALLY MAKE MUSIC that OTHER PEOPLE MIGHT HEAR?

Move Party was announced and played months ago before this had even been revealed. Just throwing that out there.

E3 is coming, they need a big casual game, and this one will be huge. I don't care, this year has been great for Wii, Nintendo deserves casual money for making Super Mario Galaxy 2.

The only thing Wii Music could use to make people like it more is allowing a music creator akin to Mario Paint. Its got a good instrument variety but the lack of being able to create original tunes (likely due to fear of copyright-happy recording labels) hurt the game.

Never mind the E3 presentation of it was like watching the Hindenburg go down in flames.

Thanks for making such a cool project. I've been checking the site for the Windows version, but I never left a comment about it. I know you are working hard and doing it for free so you shouldn't feel rushed or anything.

I'm not a huge fan of the "party-style" gaming market, but I understand why Nintendo would take part. It all comes down to $$, and it's a niche market to make some.
