Wii Music's song list will include everything from Beethoven to Madonna photo

Perhaps the only news from Nintendo's explosive set of press conferences in Tokyo and San Francisco not to generate extreme excitement was Wii Music-related, a game which all of zero of the game journos I know are looking forward to. Crabby opinions aside, Miyamoto has enough enthusiasm about this title to make up for everyone else that lacks it.

The actual songs of Wii Music were actually mentioned for the first time in the US press conference, including classical music (Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,”) and pop standards like Madonna's “Material Girl” and “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” (YES I LOVE WHAM!). Nintendo standards like the Super Mario Bros.® theme and the Zelda theme were also mentioned.

Admittedly, some of these songs are cool, but I'm still not sold on this game. I do think I would probably play it at a friend's house and likely have fun with it, though. What do you think -- want it yet?

I'd play it, but I'm still not excited enough to buy it.

I'm going to pick it up, it sounds like a good drunk party game.

Meh, not really excited about it but I'm sure it will be a laugh.

I'm just waiting for the stories of kids asking for Rock Band 2 on Wii for Christmas and getting this instead because it's cheaper.

All I actually want to do is conduct an orchestra playing the Zelda theme. I ain't sure that's worth my money.

Necros: I'm actually waiting for the stories of kids asking for this, and getting Rock Band, because their parents don't absolutely hate them.

I'll rent it, but if I buy any music game, it is going to be Rock Band 2.

Meh. It kind of looks stupid. I want one of my friends to buy it so I can play it once or twice. I would never spend money on it though.

Everytime I read about Wii Music I remember E8 '08 and want to throw up. I'll play it at the videogame store and we'll see... Or if my mother wants it, I'll buy it.
