Seriously, I accidentally threw my wiimote once and it sort of slammed against a wall, but how the hell do you manage to WOUND YOURSELF in the process?

Need to hear the latest story concerning Nintendo's new game controller/property destroyer/would-be murderer? Wiihaveaproblem.com has you covered.

They're keeping a running tally on reported instances of Wiimotes Gone Wild, with a constantly updated "Damage Toll" on the right sidebar. So far, the Wiimote is responsible for 2 dead televisions, 1 ceiling fan, 2 walls, and 1 window. And, as evidenced by the above picture, one or two cuticles.

Whether you own a Wii and need to understand the truly violent potential of your newly-bought system, or if you're weighing the pros and cons of getting one once they become available, it'd probably do you good to check out some of the victims' stories. And then come back to Destructoid, obviously.

This is just more proof that our world is full of morons and that the herd needs to be thinned substantially.

You know what I just noticed ... WHERE ARE ALL THE JAPANESE WIIMOTE BREAK STORIES? We have some weak sauce among us.

Niero is right, the vast majority of problems seems to be from USA gamers. But to be fair, this console hasn't released outside of the Americas, so maybe we won't be alone. Maybe we aren't just dumb but also stronger than the folks in Japan they likely tested the system/straps with.

I've been playing the system with four players constantly with copious amounts of drinking simulatneously. I've suprisingly only had one problem where this girl dove for a ball in Tennis (yes, stupid) and hit another player in the arm with the Remote while swinging. She is easily excitable and perhaps needed more warnings from me about the game. No one has let go of the Remote yet, and they better not.. cause i had to have them shipped in as they are sold out everywhere in my area.

Mmm... not a bad idea Nex. But I think I'll stick to my laid back play style. Think I can sue Nintendo for negatively affecting my posture? My lower back is far too curved now, I'll never be able to work again (what? there's got to be SOMEthing that qualifies for disability as a software engineer)

I've knocked my roommate in the knuckle with it so far, but nothing on par with this stuff.

As for why we haven't heard of any stories out of Japan like this... It hasn't even been released in Japan yet, right?

Have you seen some of those videos? Those people are doing it so hard, like with all their might. No wonder they fly off.

The Wii will be released in Japan on the second of December. So.... what was your remark on their being dumb people in the US? lol.

What I want to know is how many of these controllers still work after going through windows, hitting TVs, and smashing into walls.

I bet most of them are still functional.

I have been very interested to hear about these remote strap problems. I have actually toned down my playing quite a bit because of them. What I have noticed is that I can still throw a 94 mph fastball, but I don't hyperextend my arm in the process.
I think people need to be better educated (by nintendo) that one doesn't need to use all of their strength to play wii.
Cheers!
