Wii Exercise Bike is going nowhere, works with Mario Kart photo

Mario Kart Wii is a ton of fun. But, if you're strange and were hoping you could make the game less fun, you could control it with an exercise bike.

Believe it or not, an exercise bike is coming to the Wii. Cyberbike, a title from publisher Big Ben, will come with a full-sized exercise bike controller. This bike will be easy to set up with adjustable saddle and handlebars, says Big Ben. For some reason, compatibility with Mario Kart Wii is a bulletpoint. What would probably be more fun than Mario Kart would be a remake of Excitebike. Wait, that wouldn't even be fun. Nevermind.

Cyberbike is set to launch in eary 2010.

I'm pretty much done with the whole health and videogames tie-in thing. Let's move on, please.

Hit the jump to see the loosely related NSFW header image I wanted to run.

When on a treadmill, I've often wanted a video game on screen to keep my mind occupied. It really isn't a bad idea.

Price? Seriously this should've come out when Wii Fit was the Highest selling Game on the Wii. Now I can really see people spending over $100 on their Wii now.

i totally understand the whole health kick thing that nintendo is doing. that being said, it's really not worth devoting so much time and effort to it. think of the great software nintendo could be making, but instead it's more wii fit, and now cheap plastic fitness bike. nintendo, you're making me wish i was still playing gamecube. at least that system came out with a good VIDEOGAME every few months. s'pose i'll go play some ikaruga till nsmb wii hits next month

@ stevenxonward ,

I don't either. It seems like a fairly natural progression from what we've seen in the past. But, you know.. Destructoid is all about the H4RDC0R3 leet gamerz. If it has anything to do remotely do with the realm of video games, but doesn't cater to their personal needs, it'll be ridiculed. It's in right now to make fun of stuff like this.

As long as that bike offers the same kind of selective resistance that a "regular" exercise bike offers, this is a brilliant option, especially when "regular" bikes will almost certainly cost a hell of a lot more.

That actually seems kind of fun.

Problem is it's dangerous to excercise on and off so what do you do when you go into menus and such?

Don't taze me for saying this, but I think this would be interesting for Mario Kart. Plus I could probably use the exercise...

Wii get it, wii're trying to be healthy. That's cool, can I have my video games back? You can have your peripherals. Lots of people will buy this despite it being neither as satisfying as a video game nor as effective as a real exercise bike.

It doesn't look very comfortable either. Hard to tell though, the seat is hid by Ms. Fit's bodacious bottom.

if you can adjust the resistance it seems like a really good idea and I may even want it though I would really like it to be used with a number of games especially things like paperboy and maybe some bmx racing or something- it would be cool to have more games that you could actually workout playing as well as workout games

I dunno, actually having to pedal to accelerate in a game? That actually makes a whole lot of sense, if you'd like to combine exercise and gaming. That would actually be an awesome idea to get kids more physically fit.
