Wii developers are finally receiving online dev kits photo
     Industry Bullshit

Online play has become one of the most essential features in this generation of gaming. With so many multiplayer-oriented games coming out for the Wii, you have to wonder why Nintendo has been so hesitant in jumping on the online bandwagon. Suprisingly enough, it's actually starting to look like they're ready to bring the heat.

In a recent interview with The Mercury News, Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime discussed the future of Wii online play:

As for online, Reggie said that Pokemon Battle Revolution is doing well in Japan and would be the first online title in the U.S. He said online development kits have been seeded and titles are coming.

Now if only Nintendo would scrap their friend code system for something a little more ... practical.

Hello, this is 5154504518393743. I thought I would just drop everyone here a line and let them know that I, 5154504518393743, am not a convicted sex offender looking for a good time.

Nope quite the opposite.

Thanks for letting me air my deep personal truths.

Sincerely,

By all means, we can play a game. Just let me delete my inbox of all these penis drawings...

Now, what shall we play? Global War? What about... Bird Flu? Middle Eastern Disaster?

Sorry 2826423635976085, you're going to need to use the Pokemon friend codes to play 5154504518393743. Don't worry, you can message him through the Wii friend codes to say you want to play him.

the FC system is the worst idea EVER! and to think all of us who own 2 or more ninty systems go to take that survey.....i guess ninty doesn't listen to what we say ALL the time.

The whole reason I want online is for competition, not to pwn freinds long distance. Besides smash online I want to see 16 player+ fps (even if it has to look like an n64 game), and who has that many freinds and wants to enter that many codes? As fun as 360 fps seem to be, I will never again aim with an analog stick (Ok I admit I didn't really like fps before wii).

^^ Yeah, you're right. You're spending more time typing your friend's friend codes that actually playing the freaking game.

Friend Codes are seriously stupid and seems like Nintendo wants to imagine they only have 10 year olds buying thier systems. I really wish we'd get some you know mature rated games. I know we're getting Manhunt, for some reason. I really want some fun mature games. I'm kinda "meh" about Rockstar as of late.

Sure, you people say you want to get rid of friend codes now. Will you feel way the same after you've been raped by Brian Peppers?

At least rape is multiplayer.
