Okay, so seriously ... what the [intercourse] is this [fecal matter]? That's a cleaner example of the kind of thought that's been going through my head consistently during every minute of my watching this video. Apparently, this classes as gameplay footage, as shown at the 2007 Games Convention, but there's very little gameplay on show. It's mainly a picture of a woman with her tit hanging out ... just ... laughing all the time. Is this what The Witcher is supposed to be? A "look at pictures of laughing tit-hangers" sim? Don't get me wrong, I like breasticles as much as the next quasi-straight man, but I don't want them presented in such a creepy manner, especially when I'm trying to play what I can only assume is a videogame.
The only example of actual gameplay shown here is your Witcher fellow walking for all of three seconds, then it's straight back to talking to whores. That's all this video shows you -- talking to whores, with some of the most embarrassing dialogue ever, in terms of both writing and performance. The lifeless voice acting seems to go hand-in-hand with the non-existent facial animation and wooden character models. Look, I understand this is a work-in-progress, but come on, even if the developers put some animation in and take out that "stare at boobs tee hee" nonsense, that's not going to detract from lines like, "I'm no poet, but I know a peach when I see one." That doesn't even make sense. In fact ... did ANY of this trailer make a bloody lick of sense?

Oh wow a blooming laughing picture, also when the main dude replies to the first lady for the first time, did anybody think of Steven Hawking when they heard that guy say "I have those witches on the corner" or something like that.
Tell you what. Why don't I film my D-cupped friend topless on a trampoline, then splice in Agent Smith's laughter from the Matrix movies, then stick it in the Unreal engine or something, et voila! A better game than this.
This is just one video. I wasn't impressed either, but we should probably wait until the game is released. Yes, men love women but we also like pizza...and brownies! Let's make a pizza and brownie sim!
What kind of game is this piece of shit anyway? The graphics are bad, the animation is worse and the voice acting and dialogue is worse than most fighting games, let alone an RPG (which I think this is).
What is this trash? What the hell this is taking a turn that I never wanted video games to take. I hate you videohooker. I hate you so much I wish I could hate you to death.
I kept watching the people in the background. WHO EVER MOVED LIKE THAT? If I were to "mosey" and do so in slow-motion, I'd STILL move faster than those people do.
The cheesiness of it is what makes it so hilarious. It's over the top and stupid... Maybe they made it bad on purpose. Or not. Either way. How many other games let you talk about some random crap about peaches, clumsily flirt with some whore, and then end it all by saying "Mark them on my map", in a melodramatic tone. Hell, I'll buy this game just for the laughs...
When he's talking to the second hooker, there's this big dude bumbling over to him. Every time the camera pans back you see him closer... closer. I wanted him to be the girl's pimp or something and like, maul the stupid, lifeless bastard.
"I'm no poet, but I know a shitty game when I see one..."
ikoul: You need to watch more movies if you think THAT wooden, shitty acting was "over the top" and "melodramatic". It's not even performed well enough to classify as cheese.
Was that interlude with the topless portrait and the creepy laughter supposed to be the sex scene? I prefer Fable's - at least you got "you're so norty!", which, in three words, is better dialogue than that entire trailer managed. What was with those awful fruit metaphors?
well it was a recording of some undersexed over weight player getting WAY to excited to collect his witcher Whore cards for use at a later time so he can drop down Daisy the titty whore to fight against monster Omega DUCE...
but yeah even though this is my #1 most awaited game to play... and in all honesty the voice acting is on par with that region, there from Czech/Hungery and thats a typical slovak accent. so bugger off you un educated non worldly dicks who cant be open to anyone that doesn't sound just like you do cause we all know Americans are 100% perfect in all they do.
I don't know why, but your last comment reminded me of Austin Powers when Tom Arnold says he likes Austins outfit asks If he was in the show and he says "No, I'm British"
(I'll preface this by saying I do PR on this game)...
It's important to note that sexuality isn't a focus in The Witcher. When you think of this game, think of the deep narrative, fun combat and great visuals. Unfortunate that of the clips that did make it out of Leipzig, this is the one that gets the attention. We'll have some better official videos soon.
"Take God of War for example -- that game has tits in, but they rarely promoted it. Why? They didn't need to."
Umm, yea.. It's the same thing for the Witcher. This is the first video with that in it. Every other video has been showing combat and the environment. Your argument fails.
It's almost like most people have such a limited attention span when it comes to games. That's why whenever stuff about this game is shown people act like it's the first time they've heard of it.
Woah that was awesome! It makes total sense. Everytime I choose wisely in my conversation with the local hooker, a big painting appears out of nowhere and the hookers laughs and laughs. Then takes my monies.
*sniff.
I still don't understand why I talk to her.
They really should drop the stupid topless-portrait-implied-sex-scence.
I'm looking forward to the witcher but it has nothing to do with the t and a factor. I has to do with the options you have in dealing withquest like getting the hookers to distract the guards or getting the local thugs to fight the guards or using your persuasive skills to get past the guards. To me it feels like your old school crpg that people really aren't making these days.
European developers tend to do the voice acting themselves, so a lot of the bad acting is due to the fact they have no access to professional methods and it's cheaper overall to do it in-house.
If you look at the new developer walk-through video of stalker:clear sky he starts to laugh and says " yeah I did the voice to this character, and yeah I know it's bad". but I don't think it's that bad since those character are supposed to have euro-accents.

Haha this game looks like garbage.
Take God of War for example -- that game has tits in, but they rarely promoted it. Why? They didn't need to.
For some reason, I vividly picture this game being much improved with an upbeat reggae soundtrack.

I'm a big fan of writer Andrzej Sapkowski and his books and I was looking forward to this games, but it looks like a crap. Maybe worse.
But then again, this movie was, um, yeah.....
"He fixes the cable?"

Grand, sir. Grand.
This video isn't very good, previous were much much better, so I still hope it'll be good game.
