Make sure you're comfortable before you start to watch this Halo Wars demonstration video -- it's long! Lead designer Graham Devine narrates the 10 minute long video as he shows us how the Halos will play like. The video starts off with Pelican in flight being escorted by a couple of SkyHawks. The Pelican drops off a few Marines and thats when you take control of your forces.

Graham shows off the mechanics of the base, the natural human feel to the characters and how the Xbox 360 controller will be able to handle the RTS control of the game. We are also shown how the battles will take place between the Covenant and the humans and how each type of infantry will assist in the battles. The best part of the video for me was finally seeing the M.A.C. gun in action. I always read about them in the books so it was pretty satisfying to see how powerful the M.A.C. is.

Also, after the jump, check out the high quality video from the live action Halo teaser. It's amazing how different everything looks now from that sh*tty video I posted of it before

God damn it. i've been trying to upload this video to gametrailers for the last 2 days. so not fair. each time i upload it it fails at the compressing stage after it's done with the actual upload. I could have had some free video hits off destructoid.

Although, a video i posted on youtube once got posted on kotaku ages ago and within 12 hours it was removed for copywrite infringement.

GOD DAMN IT ALL!!! That videos just failed in the uploading stage. man gametrailers sucks sometimes.

Sorry for the vitriol. nice video BTW.

Why the hell wouldn't this game come out on PC as well? It's not like Microsoft doesn't have a near complete on PC gaming or anything. This should be a GFW game. The fact that it isn't bothers me. It could be Vista only, as long as it isn't like crappy Halo 2 PC. Maybe they could even let us PC gamers beat the crap out of 360 players online. In any case, I don't see why they don't release this, and Halo 3 for PC. There's nothing stopping them, really.

ok my pants did not tighten at the first attempt at posting that live action clip... but they certainly did this time! That looked a LOT cooler when you could actually see it! Plus Halo wars looks awesome and I'm really really looking forward to it

The warthogs need to slide about more. They look like they handle like Micro Machines right now. It looks alright. I might get it, for an army of Spartans.

I'm going to make 50 Warthogs and move them all together in one big pack. Yes, yes I am. I'm sure there's more to the game than what we're seeing. Besides, it's really just made for Halo fans. I doubt anyone else, besides casual gamers, will find anything of much interest.

And LOL @ the Grunts' methane tanks popping.

How many more RTS are going to have vehicles that approach the target, engage and just sit there getting shot? Does the real military do that? I know it's a niggle but it looks really dumb and you would of thought someone could of created a strafing A.I. by now. I for one wouldn't want to spend my time clicking 'run over' again and again when the game should know that this is the best way to deal with the grunts. Halo wars looks nice, but that seems about all. One for the fans.

looks pretty slick, BUT- in Halo, while in the Warthog- you never just SIT THERE during a battle! Moving targets are harder to hit. Maybe they could solve this by allowing us to select optional driver AI for some vehicles.

Well i was certainly impressed by that and i'm not normally an RTS fan.

I'm glad it's for 360 as well because i can't stand PC gaming.

No idea why it isn't coming out on the PC too tho. Would have made more sense from a business point of view.

I was a little disappointed with the visuals of the MAC cannons hitting the battlefield. I was hoping it'd be more than big streaks of glowing whatever. Oh well. Nothing beats the Ion Cannon from C&C, though. Especially the new version from C&C3
