Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

[Editor's note: This video contains a lot of profanity. If you're at work, take a pass on this one. -- Nick]

EA is a terrible company. They rape and pillage franchise after franchise and are basically a disease whose practices have lowered the standards of what passes for an acceptable retail game, much like rap and My Chemical Romance has ruined what is considered "music."

In the future, I imagine EA will just send you a box that has "Madden" hastily written on the side in Magic Marker, and a little midget will pop out and punch you in the nuts, then take your wallet. But of course, you won't even get to keep the midget because you will need to pay for a cheat code via Xbox Live that unlocks him somewhere in your neighborhood, and then you have to go look for him, which is going to be really hard because he's a freaking midget.

To all you retarded mongoloids who buy Madden year after year, thank you for helping destroy the game industry and supporting companies like EA. This video is for you. <3

[Via Kif's clog.]

From PSYK0MANT1S, the creator of the video:

Ok EA... I've been VERY QUIET for a long long time about the quality of your titles. I am quiet no more. Today I got off of work and there was nothing more i wanted to do but to play my new copy of John Madden 2008 Football on my xbox 360. Not even 2 games into my copy of Madden and glitches surface. Even your own in-game replay system helped me document this bullshit.

I'm sorry but I am not going to speak good of EA for the rest of my existance on this earth until I see some serious improvements in your quality standards. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count how many times I've been let down by Electronic Arts titles on PC, XBOX, XBOX360, PSX, and PS2. Let down you ask? Well let's talk about how EA needs to STOP releasing beta builds of their games. EA needs to STOP releasing a game that needs a patch the next day. EA needs to STOP letting us the consumer/gamer pay for a buggy product. EA needs to get their act together and get some REAL Quality Assurance going on.

Let me tell you something EA... My father said something to me a couple years before his death and I've never forgotten it. He said, "If you are not going to put your full ass into your work, then quit now. Spare me the trouble of finding it done half-ass so I can get on with my life."

I am posting this in hopes that I can alert the community of this injustice ONCE AGAIN committed by Electronics Arts to it's consumers. As gamers and consumers we need to stand up to our game makers and demand higher quality and assurance. My 60+ dollars today was spent only to be dissapointed...

 Amen brother.

As a huge football fan and an owner of NCAA 08 and Madden 08 I can say that so far I haven't had any glitches like that in my games. I have rarely, if ever, noticed any glitches in NCAA 08 (besides the damn secondary picking off almost every pass I throw) and I haven't had Madden 08 long enough to really get into it.

I miss the days of 2K5 as much as all of you. Didn't EA only buy the license for a certain amount of years?

So the guy thinks EA games are buggy crap, yet he went out and bought Madden the day of, or a day after, it was released?

He should be making a video to ridicule himself and all the other idiots that keep paying for the shit.

it's hard to empathize/sympathize with you when you're trying to induce seizure to the people watching your video.

I'll disagree with you only on the matter of the Battlefield franchise. 1942 was a great game, and so is 2142.

Hey, don't forget the fact that Activision had the foresight to put together a My Chemical Romance song pack for GH2.
That's just good business sense.

You guys do know EA is losing most of the sports licences next year, right? Now, is it good to not have shitty sports games, or is it bad to have all those people who worked on shitty sports games to be redirected to good games?

I'm with Jim on this one -- fuck that guy. If he's been so disappointed by EA on such a multitude of consoles, why is he still buying EA games?

Is there proof that he didn't just walk his QB off the field? There is no way you can prove that he didn't do that himself.

2nd part...ok.

I agree about madden being a horrible game but ea has come out with some good games without glitches or any problems. SSX was awsome untill they came out with on tour, but on tour never had any glitches or anything it was just a horrible game. And the nba street games i thought were really fun and i never really had any probblems with glitches or anything with them either.

There was some story on here about Madden running at a slower frame rate for the PS3 vs the 360, I didn't either bother commenting because if you don't know why then please research how much work EA does to port a game to a different console.

Rock is so much better, it doesn't have any of those scary Black people like the "rap music" OH NOSE!

Is there a way to let the nfl know how much we hate their exclusive license deal? I have stopped playing NFL videogames since the exclusive deal, and the quality of games has decidedly dropped off.

Christ, in the early 2000s we had Madden, NFL 2K, and NFL Blitz. All of those games were much better than the current Madden because of the competition.

I miss football video games very much, but I won't buy one until competition is allowed.

I'm just mad that they are sitting on American McGee's Alice which would make an awesome next-gen console game.

I'm sorry, but how can you blame the guy in the video? Yes, he chose to buy the game, but who else is he going to buy an NFL game from? As has been said many times, EA has a monopoly. If he's an NFL fan, his options are limited.

@biz
Yeah, we had 20 years of great hip-hop and now we're stuck with the current shit.

Blitz is way better.

After reading that blog about how they treat their employees and push them to work unpaid overtime till exhaustion I can't believe nothing has been done about it sooner.
Although, while EA may be notorious for beta quality releases I think a large portion of games today are like that.

A huge problem I have is stuff just looks like PS2/Xbox games except in a higher resolution. Setup a monitor/HDTV next to an SDTV and play a number of next gen titles. Sometimes you can barely tell the difference.

I'm going to break away from popular opinion, and admit that I actually like a few of EA's games. Do I agree with the incremental updates they do with sports titles? Hell no, but other than that, they have as many great games as the next guy.

Really, the incremental, yearly updates are the problem. Sure, they add a couple new gameplay modes, but how many virtual football games do you really need? I've thought about picking up NFL 2k1 just to have a newer football game than Super Play Action Football. I could find it for $2 or so. I just don't understand this mentality of automatically paying $60 for a game that largely plays the same. At least with the PGA games they can add new courses, and since the different games have different courses I can see someone picking up Tiger Woods every year (personally, I only have 2004, and I bought that used last year.) But football.... I just don't get it, especially when you know you won't ever pick the old one up to play it once you have next year's version.

That was not a good article. I appreciate that this is a blog and that was your opinion but with the reader base growing like it is don't you think you should be just a little bit more objective? Objective as in EA Sports are only one division, and the others tend to produce some fairly awesome games *ahem* Battlefield 2 *ahem*. I know it's considered 'cool' to hate EA but as other people have said already, it's really not their fault dipshits buy all their lame franchises.

Yeah, I think EA's exclusivity rights with the NFL is coming up next year, and from what I've heard I don't think the NFL is going to stay exclusive to EA. Looking forward to some actual quality games.

I haven't bought a madden game since 2004 and from what I'm seeing it looks like it was a good decision. The brain dead video gamers will pick it up just because "dude its madden" and if your a football fan and have to have the players names then yup its your only choice, which is really sad when you think about it. EA getting exclusive rights has hurt the industry so bad it won't be fully known until they don't have it anymore. Business/gaming thrives on competition, when you have competitors it forces you to make a product as good as if not better than theirs, and everyone benefits from it especially the end consumer. It forces you to adapt and make a creative and innovative product to beat the competitions product, and now that we don't have that this is what we're stuck with. Lets just say their exclusive lisence doesn't change, the only way you can get them to change is to stop buying their products, but there just isn't enough smart and informed consumers out there to do it at the moment.

"much like rap and My Chemical Romance has ruined what is considered "music." Fuck, I hope you said that just to get a rise, or see how many people took the bait, because you sound like a fucking idiot. MCR are shit, I agree, but Rap, as in, the entire genre? Fuck-brained retards like you should't be allowed opinions. You've just ignored one of the most influential and vital musical movements ever, not to mention the only one which white people never really managed to rip off totally. How old are you, 50? Fucking mongoloid. Haha, you my buddy. The vid raises some good points though, EA have frustarted me on a number of occasions. I'm very much looking forward to Skate and this reminds of how my heart may very well be broken. At least it's BlackBox though, hopefully they'll rise above their parent company's track record.

I totally agree that there are a couple of good EA games (Godfather: Blackjack edition comes to mind), while EA Sports make crappy Madden and FIFA games, but don't forget that EA games make an awful lot of games that are basically just there to cash in, like addons to The Sims, or Lord of the Rings, or Medal of Honour. When they're not making crappy sports games, they're making crappy sequels or movie licenced games.

Oh, and they also ruin good franchises such as Timesplitters. I will never forgive them for what they have done to Timesplitters 3.

Not all Rap is bad, to that I disagree. To the Gangster/Crunk/Mo' Money/Misogynistic rap yeah I agree. Don't really listen to My Chemical Romance, are they what they call an "emo band"?

Anyways back to EA...Well their record speaks for themselves. All I ever hear is "Online sucks", "EA tries to monopolize gaming industry", "EA are slave drivers", "EA releases games still needing 2-6 months of development". Really, I don't hear much positive. Except that some people liked NHL 07.

It seems like EA is trying with their new IPs, but they MUST have Madden out on time or they lose millions of dollars. If this means short-changing the QA team on time and resources, so be it.

EA QA is meant to please the console manufacturers, not the consumer. And since Madden sells hardware, of COURSE the console manufacturers are going to let some bugs slip through. Blame whoever you want, there are a number of groups at fault here.

Mostly I blame guys named Troy who play Madden with guys named Chad and later they're gonna go to a Sick Kegger and end up molesting some poor freshman girl because she had too much to drink. Kiss the curb, meatheads.
