Whoa, Mega Bonus Points, Man!

Nickelodeon's ancient sketch show, Welcome Freshmen (1991-1993), tackled the now long-standing conflict between parents and kids over video games when ye readers were but babes. Sit back and watch Walter and Merv's wisdom in a pre-scapegoating era, while playing a video game worthy of the Fronz 's Fake Game Fridays.

"I mean, what harm do video games do, anyway?" Well, if the rest of the episode is any indication, they make you steal cars - like that's a first!

Meanwhile, Uncle Pidge tries to recapture his youth through early 90's nostalgia - is it too soon?

Canadian sketch show, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Can't_Do_That_on_Television" target=_blank title="YCDTOT">You can't do that on television</a> was the best. A few other shows you'd probably hate to remember: Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Arcade" target=_blank title="Nick Arcade">Nick Arcade</a>, though this last one deserves an entry on dtoid all its own.

<a href="http://www.djjazzyjeff.com/" target=_blank title="DJ Jazzy Jeff">DJ Jazzy Jeff</a> continues producing around the hip hop world, his own stuff and remixing, and he also puts out <em><strong>hott</strong></em> <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Hip-Hop-Forever-Vol-3/dp/B000HCPSOY" target=_blank title="Hip Hop Forever 3">throwback mixes</a>.

YCDTOT was great, that wikipedia article was actually very interesting. I'd love to see some of the original non-Nick episodes. I remember liking Salute Your Shorts and Hey Dude as well. Welcome Freshman was complete ass.

My brother and I would watch Nick Arcade and laugh at how pathetic some of the challenges were. Anyone else remember Video Power, BEFORE it turned into a game show?
