Who wants another Beyond Good & Evil 2 rumor? I do I do I do! photo

It's been quite a while, but someone at PSM3 decided it was time to bring back some good old fashioned Beyond Good & Evil 2 rumors. The original is considered one of the darlings of the hardcore gamer crowd, as well as one of gaming's biggest sales injustices, and fans have been clamoring for a sequel for years.

PSM3's 'The Insider' segment suggests that BG&E 2 is a sequel that "will most likely see the light of day." I would jump at the chance to play a sequel, but we've heard many rumors about it over the years and I think Ubisoft really needs to crap or get off the pot on this one.

Among other rumortoids spilled out by 'The Insider' are:

  • A Leisure Suit Larry movie in the works. Why work for your porn?
  • EA's The Simpsons Game getting a sequel. More justifying bad game design by pretending it's ironic? I won't pencil it into my schedule.
  • Treyarch spending two years on Call of Duty 5 instead of nine months. Yay?
  • The next issues of PSM3 revealing "the big daddy of secret AAA shooters." If there's anything to that one, The Internet will get it first, I am pretty sure.
As with all rumors, take all of them with a pinch of salt. Everyone loves a good bit of housewifesome gossip though, so enjoy.

Well that's good that they're going to put some work into CoD 5. They have a lot to live up to though.

Really been thirsting for a sequel, seriously this long. Plus it was one of the main reasons I purchased an Xbox; to fully enjoy this title. BG&E was a surreal experience, that very few games can capture. It deserves a sequel, and I agree Ubi has been too quiet, for way too long.

BG&E2? Cocktease... :(

Presumably the "the big daddy of secret AAA shooters." is DOOM 4, which was just announced.

Now excuse me as I explode in a white torrent of come whilst thinking about BG&E2 and the potential of DOOM 4 being more like the first two instead of the disappointing 3.

doom 4? pffft.

i was thinking a bioshock ps3 confirmation? "big daddy" and all.

i don't know why people get excited at the idea of sequels to their cult favorites. need i remind you how bad the nights into dreams sequel was?

hmm?

HMMM!?

"big daddy"? Bioshock 2? That's thinking veeerrry literally though.

BG&E2 would be most appreciated, as long as it's handled with care, ie the focus isn't solely on a graphics upgrade.

The Simpsons's Game sequel could only get better or only get worse, or only get somewhere in between.

The point is they can only do what as well as they will do but they will certainly not do what they won't do.

I'm tired of diappointment! I want BG&E2 Ubisoft, pretty please? With a cherry on top? With all that Rainbow 6 and Assassin's Creed money, you can afford to do this!

Please... please... there has to be BG&E2. I guess Ubidays will explain everything if there's indeed a sequel underway. Keep your fingers crossed.

I would definitely buy a sequel to BG&E with absolutely no hesitation. Of course I don't think they'll ever make it, but I'd buy it.

I signed a petition over at the Ubi forums for BG&E2. Seriously Ubisoft could do a lot worse than a sequel for this game.

GoNintendo's webmaster always posts whatever BG&E2 "leads" he finds, and a lot of them lean towards Wii (go figure =p).

A sequel would be great, though. BG&E was a very special game, like Disney meets LoZ. The soundtrack was breath-taking, as well. All I ask is if they make the other two games (it's intended to be a trilogy), less stealth, better combat, and more puzzles.

I'd kill every dolphin in the world if it brought BG&E2 to light! EVERY ONE OF THEM!

Oh man. BG&E was one of the first games that really captivated me. Games before it was just a nice way of getting distracted, but that game was just so... more-ish. Played it from start to finish, hated the cliff-hanger, and then waited for a sequel that never turned up :/

PLEASE BE TRUE! I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!

I've sadly never finished the first BG&E. I made it pretty far, up to the part where you're trying to search for a ship. From what I did play, it was an amazing experience, well worth the... $15 I paid.

I'd totally nerdgasm if true.

We at the WiiDSpodcast and BGE2Revolution agree - and this is why we are doing everything we can in order to get this game publicised and inform everyone of how great that original game was.

This Petition will go a long way to help us get this game our of Michel Ancels brain and into our hands.
