Who has their priorities straight?

It's really interesting: while the "top sellers" list at Amazon.com may not be the most accurate picture of how games are selling in a particular market, they seem to be pretty good indicators of what that market's interests are. Take this week for example: The Nintendo DS rules as usual, with the twin blockbusters Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl taking top honors at places 1 and 2, followed by the Onyx Black Nintendo DS. This reads to me as "Americans like Pokemon and their DSes", and this seems to be the general consensus lately.

Now let's look at our Japanese friends: They also love their Nintendo DSes as well as the internet mega-store Amazon. Amazon Japan's top listed selling game this week? Dokidoki Majo Shinpan, the game that lets players poke and touch various girls with their stylus (or go bare handed if you roll like that). If the title sounds familiar, it's because we told you about the web site opening last month. The most surprising thing is that the game hasn't been released yet, and that those sales numbers come from preorders!

So, to summarize, we both like Nintendo's handheld and Amazon, but while we love collecting our pocket monsters, they prefer to poke animated girls in the ass with a stylus. Any questions?
