Ok, so maybe it has something to do with the fact that since Level 5 announced Ninokuni, I've been swooning even since, but when I watched this trailer above I actually got chills -- the good kind! I've really been into my PS3 lately, and knowing this title is coming down the pipeline for 2009 makes me happy to have something to look forward to when it comes to my RPG needs.

White Knight Story comes out in Japan and is slated for a North American release in 2009. I can't wait to get my hands on this and find out what the story is with that giant turtle. If that's an enemy fo rme to fight, count me twice as excited. Hit the jump for one more new video for your ogling pleasure.

Man, I have to say, it looks a lot less amaaaaazing than that time I saw the first trailer back in 2006/2007. This was going to be the one game to make me buy a PS3, now I dunno..

I hold out hope that this might be good simply because it's made by level 5.

But the battles look like FF11 and FF12 both of which were made of toxic levels of awful.

This looks fantastic, and I'm not a big RPG guy. Seems charming, deep, easy on the eyes.

I agree with Pew...this game looked really cool two years ago but now I'm not very impressed.

I agree with Pew that was very underwhelming...

I think this looks fun! I haven't played a good RPG in a while. Can't wait to check this out next year.

This is precisely what I wanted since Dragon Quest 8. Although I would like a real time battle system, this battle system seems... ok. I can put up with it for the rest of the game.

I like RPGs so this one my get a whirl in my PS3, but I have to say, after viewing the trailer, the word 'generic' springs to mind.

I think that is the trailer for the online multiplayer portion they have planned. Which sadly *looks* a lot worse than the single player.

Single player hopefully looks closer to those original trailers.

I definitely fall into the category of people who are losing interest in this game. Beyond the opening shot of the first video and the guy running in the streets of what appears to be a capitol city, I was pretty unimpressed.

I deleted my first response because of the snark.

This looks really boring. Too menu driven. And what's with the mail? Is this online? Is it a co-op LMORPG? Or is it story driven?

The official website has another movie (maybe the second one you posted after the jump?) Even the cinematic video looks half-assed. Color me saddened by the impending mediocrity.

Okay, the gameplay video was underwhelming to say the least, but the second video? That actually made me cringe.

Don't get me wrong, I think the art direction is great as far as the monsters and landscapes go, they're imaginative and easy on the eyes. But the character designs? Hell, the characters in general? From what the preview seems to imply, Mary Sue is back, and this time, it's personal.

Also, the main character turns into a mech. Don't have any real comment on that, it just needs to be said.

Top trailer: Looked a little basic I will admit.

Bottom trailer: Epic

Was the top trailer for like, an online component of the game (I hope)?

I'm going to need to see a lot more of this game before I decide to call it crap or consider it for buy/rental.

Looks interesting. I sort of like idea of a Fable 2-esque online co-op in a more traditional JRPG setting. I'll be keeping my ears and eyes open for more details about this game now.

A lot of you are saying basic, and in this generation full of casual talk, I'm up for some retro hard core basic gaming. I clearly see a larger exploration and customization aspect, just a very basic battle system. Level 5 always has a good story so if there is multi-player as well, then lay it on me too.

I have to throw my hat into the "CG looks cool, but gameplay left me kinda cold" ring...then again, maybe I'm just more sensitive to this sort of thing after Infinite Undiscovery.

With the online component, I am surprised you are even interested, Colette. I actually think it is an interesting idea, in that it appears to be Final Fantasy with an online component without becoming PSO.

Again, Colette, you're excited to play online? Is it because you can, apparently, not deal with random players and can instead only play with those you want?

The online component is really driving me away from this game. Also the game graphics don't really look very good if you see them in HD.
