If you played the first White Knight Chronicles you'll know that it was an enjoyable journey marred by a clunky battle system. But there's hope for this game, and a lot of that hope lies in the story. If you did play the first game you'll know that there's a lot more story to be told, and judging from this opening movie, it looks like they're picking up right where the first game left off.
Even with the mediocre score I gave the first game, I'm kind of hoping they'll clean up the combat and navigation a bit. Those two things alone would make White Knight Chronicles 2 a better game. They story? It's fine. This movie lets us know that the battle is growing to be quite epic. You'll see massive warships move about land, air and sea as the conflict escalates.
It sucks that this is about 60% CG and another 40% in-game story scenes. There's barely any gameplay shown. I hope we see that very soon -- maybe from game play videos from the summer release in Japan.
It could go either way on this sequel. Hopefully they've learned from the first game.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I hope it's good. I'm waiting for the first to be cheaper. I always go for this studios games and the online multiplayer looks sweet.
I can't wait
That probably ate up 20 hours of gameplay in total. Other than that I loved the game. Didn't play much online because only one of my two friends that have it, are connected online. Lame.
It wasn't even that bad. It mostly suffered from such long localization that it was incredible dated when it finally came out in America. In Japan it also sold moderately well. Kind of like how Kane and Lynch was mostly panned, but it sold well, so here we are.
