Outlast really scared me when I played it back at PAX East earlier this year and it seems to have been a debut success for developer Red Barrels, enough to warrant some DLC. The Canadian studio has revealed the expansion will be dubbed Whistleblower and will star the original anonymous tip that led the original protagonist Miles Upshur to go to Mount Massive Asylum. There's no release date confirmed yet for the DLC.
If you've been holding off on buying Outlast, it's 33% off on Steam, GamersGate, and GOG.com right now but if you buy direct from Red Barrels then you'll get Outlast for $13.40 and receive a DRM-free version, a Steam key, and a download of the Samuel Laflamme-composed soundtrack.
