Sega's second line-up of self-proclaimed classics for Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network, dubbed Vintage Collection 2, has received a solid release date. On June 10, Gunstar Heroes, Altered Beast, Shinobi (arcade version), Comix Zone, Phantasy Star 2, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 are all making their way to XBLA.
On June 11, however, only Gunstar Heroes is hitting PSN. Where's the love? Additionally, we are also told that Sonic and Knuckles is headed for XBLA sometime this summer.
All of the titles excluding Phantasy Star 2, Comix Zone, and Shinobi will have network functionality, and the entire Vintage Collection 2 contains support for online leaderboards and has the option to HD-ify the games if you want (trust me, you don't).
In case you recently experienced memory loss and forgot what these videogames look and sound like, Sega has tossed over a trailer with footage of the lot of 'em.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

So just to be clear, is this one purchase on XBLA that includes all the games, or can you buy them separately? I'm confused, the word "Collection" is throwing me off.
Trophies? Sorry, I had to ask. Considering I already bought Gun Star Heroes off the Wii virtual console I'm going to need a little more incentive to get it again.
@Char: It's seperate. I've seen achievement lists for a few of the games.
I'll probably get Gunstar Heroes and Sonic 3. I know I'm not helping the whole deal with Sega whoring out these games, but eh, I liked them when I was a kid.
Obvious price is the biggest issue for me. For three or four of these games, I could get the same ones, plus 40 others on the disc, assuming they're going to be 800 points each. (the last SEGA XBLA games were, right? Correct me if im wrong)
They're releasing the bulk of these releases on the 360 'cause those meathead fucks are the only ones dumb enough to buy them all over again for extra e-peen gamerpoints.
I don't really understand why they're doing this, since almost anyone can find the SUGC disc for $30 or less, new. Gunstar Heroes is the only reason I can think why, but again, like that other guy said, I already bought it on the Wii and played it to death.
Pass.
I do recommend SUGC for anyone thinking of getting these titles. XBL support or not, how crowded do you think the game will be a month from now online? These games must be played with two people in the same room, folks. And a bottle of Hawaiian Punch, bag of cheetos, and your mom in the other room telling you to fold your clothes.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I'm interested in Gunstar Heroes.
