Whip it, whip it good: New Bionic Commando footage

     Capcom

Here's some new footage from Bionic Commando showing the ... Bionic Commando picking up giant objects and whipping them into people's faces. We also see that Bionic Commando is going the route of not having a health system, which I really like. R6: Vegas, Halo 3, Turok and a bunch of other games have been doing the same recently and I think it's a great change of pace for action games. Sometimes, it's a b*tch looking for and worrying about your health coughHalf-Life 2cough. Speaking of Half-Life, the whipping function is reminding me a lot of the Gravity Gun.

Be sure to check out Gameboi's recent interview with Ben Judd for more info on Bionic Commando

Not impressed.

I've had more fun picking my nose.

On the bright side, the music sounds kind of cool.

Oh hay, it's coming to PC too. Must be using Capcom's central engine. Maybe I will get to play it then. If it's any good... kinda indifferent right now.

The word "gimmick" comes to mind when I see this video, we'll have to see if it's implemented well.

this was one of my very favorite games for the nes. the part at the end where you swing down and shoot hitler in the face was outrageous. one of the most graphic images i can think of on the old 8bit wonder.

Not bad at all. Much better than the teaser trailer that made me only think of a bionic Tarzan. This could play out for some solid skill required combats if what you can use is limited.

Just had to be 3D now didn't it. God...at least they chose some cheesy 80's action film music.

All he did was throw cars and crates.. and he had to stand still to throw them. Does this not trouble anyone else? xD.

@Neonie

And also the enemies seem to just stand still and shoot, waiting for a burnt out car to hit them in the face. Hope the game is good, but I'm not going to get excited yet.

Too bad there isn't like a console that uses motion and stuff so you could like, really like, whip something around. o well. They could call it the whiip or wiip or something.

Meh.
If I wanted to whip it, I'd listen to Devo. This game adds nothing to experiences that I've already enjoyed in Spider-Man (webslinging), Castlevania (Belmont's whip), Ratchet & Clank (slingshot)or even Halflife (grav gun).

Been there, Played that.
Do not want.

I'm actually surprised. It looks really good. I'm now officially excited for this. A purchase will depend on what kind of replayability it offers.

Imagine how insane multiplayer could be in a game like this where everyone was whipping the environment around at each other and stuff! That'd be so cool.

I don't really mind medpacks, so long as they're used well - and I think Half-Life uses them well. The recharge stations helped. I don't mind auto-recharging health either.

I have a headache. I'm going to shut up now.
