Yeah I see that but in my opinion if you oppose the petition not signing is your sign of opposition. You don't need to draw attention to your opposition.
Fanboys will always find something to complain about, whether it's the art style of Sonic or something else.
So anyone with any legitimate concerns, please email fucking Sega/Sonic Team, not post demands on on back alley internet petition that no one takes seriously.
Here's to us Destructoid, for having not only brains, but actually using them. Cheers.
Hey! That sounds just like Jesus Christ followers!
Because they totally speak for all of us, right? Of course, all Sonic fans are seizing retards who are completely detached from reality. Plus if they were real fans, they'd buy Sonic 2. XD
The fact that the game is being made by Dimps (the Sonic Advance/Rush developers) and not Sonic Team, who have repeatedly botched the recent Sonic games, is generally considered a good point, considering Dimps' above-average track record with the recent Sonic games. The reason Sonic Rush and Sonic 4 look so similar is because the developers are the same. Like I said before, looks like Sonic Rush, but doesn't mean PLAYS like Sonic Rush.
The leaked video shows about a minute of of Sonic running and jumping, and doing a homing attack on a spring. You'll notice that he didn't try and actually do any platforming like in the old Sonic games you seem to like so much, he just ran forwards, avoiding any items and enemies and jumped a few times. The fact that you (if you are the actual petition creator) made a petition based off that video is depressing.
Please, for the sake of sanity, just take the petition down. Sonic 4 is the first episode out of maybe four or five episodes, and SEGA have said, iirc, that they're open to suggestions about what they could change between episodes. So if it's not up to scratch, you complain to SEGA instead of stewing in a petition and making a fool out of yourself.
Either way, Jim if you are listening, I'd love to do a panel talk with you on msn or on here if that is possible. I am not that familiar with your site, so not sure if you have anthing to do that with. I just strongly disagree with Jim on sonic 4, and he is ssaying he is a big fan of Sonic, I can't say who is the bigger fan. I do have Rush though, haven't finished it yet but have played most the levels. I do enjoy Sonic on the Genesis a lot more, it just seems to be a different games in many design aspects.
Either way, all mature discussion is welcome.

But hey, like all "petitons" or "boycotts" (MW2, L4D2) a vast majority of them will still buy and play the game.
Okay Jackie I have an idea. We're about to open up a Sega petition here on DToid. Jim is actually a part of it. PM him or email him. He might be able to get ygro (a local who runs the podcast) to let you guest and defend your position.
I truthfully want to hear what you have to say.
The fans have the right to be critics, it's been a decade since we've had GOOD Sonic game.
Stupid petition though.
exists. Get over yourselves.
Almost.
I really do not want to have to explain that.
If you're such a big fan, won't you already have Sonic 1?"
Yeah and you'd think they'd spell Sonic and Sega with capital S's.
He's a Japanese character that was "Americanized", but then later he got an anime look. I blame Sonic X.
