Whine enough, get Bionic Commando on the Wii photo

Fire up the Internet petition machine, folks. While Capcom's Bionic Commando will be making the familiar rounds on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, there's currently no plans for the game coming to the Wii.

If you're one of the many that think the game's grappling and swinging mechanics would lend itself quite nicely to Nintendo's console, there's still hope. Speaking with VideoGamer.com, Capcom's Ben Judd gets inspirational, and says that anything is possible ... if you want it bad enough.

"It will largely depend on what the fans want for the future of Bionic Commando," he told VideoGamer.com, "If the interest is there, of course we want as many people as possible to appreciate this great franchise."

Begging and groveling might work. I also hear Judd likes dark chocolates, tulips, and candlelight dinners.

I think it would work well on the Wii but I'm unlikely to buy this game for any console unless it plays a lot better than it looks.

the only good Bionic Commando game was the original Nintendo game...and MAYBE the GBC version.

otherwise...meh.

I would like to see the future of Bionic Commando to be retirement, along with every other crappy series rehash they feel the need to churn out to revive franchises that have been dead for 20 years.

ffs, the game industry is starting to ape Hollywood - all we need now is River Raid 2008 or something...

I'm with Dork on the online petition. Let's flatten out everything, throw in some Nazis, lost the dreads (maybe add some cool goggles or something and decrease the muscle mass 200%) and get this ball rolling.

Or I could just go play the original Bionic Commando now. Both are good ideas!

huh, they're actually suggesting that an internet petition could be the way to go? I still haven't seen everything, but clearly I'm getting closer.

I think they're flattering themselves somewhat, I can't see too much of a fan outcry happening considering the material they've shown so far has been underwhelming to say the least. As already suggested, I'm looking forward to the original NES game appearing on Wii Virtual Console a heck of a lot more then this generic looking monstrosity.

What's with the hot-dog arms, dreadlocks and overly butch, muscle bound guy? I mean if you've got a freaking bionic arm I wouldn't bother working out, I like the idea of a weedy guy with a bio-mechanical appendage as an unlikely hero.

Thanks but no thanks Capcom.

2 things sell on the Wii.

Minigame collections and Nintendo's own core franchises, this is just business for Capcom, they're not gonna put a game that might not sell on Nintendo's waggle machine of joy.

That said, the game looks like ass anyway, I am so sick of grim gritty futures with an even grittier hero. Come up with something new assholes.

Wii will never be able to process that game. They'd have to do a brand new game all over. This means another engine, new design, new art and... lotso money.

If a Wii version was only a second thought to them, I have a feeling that they'd do a half-assed job of producing it, like the majority of other multi-platform games that are released for it. I'm not going to beg for the Wii to get shafted by lazy developers again.

This game looks good and please guys, don't be so quick to judge. How do you know it's gonna turn out like shit? Could be a good game for all you know. 2D to 3D worked well for Mario.

It's on PC because it's surely running on Capcom's PS3/360/PC engine.

Do we really want a shitty watered down Wii port? No.

@Zanylce

Mario =/= Bionic Commando.

Mario was a Nintendo produced franchise made for a NIntendo produced platform, and thus Nintendo had far more control and interest in designing the game and was willing to put a lot of work into making it great. Third-party developers making Wii games as an afterthought tend not to put so much effort into then, and as a consequence, those games have an annoying tendency of turning out awful.

I'd still rather get the 360 version; if they're going to make a Wii game, it should be originally intended for the Wii, or else it won't be worth it.
