Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? She's on the DS, you stupid ARSE photo

The only reason I'm posting this story is because I know it will make our very own Reverend Anthony Burch squeal with sordid delight. His object of mucky fantasy, Carmen Sandiego, appears to be heading to the Nintendo DS.

The information leaked, as such info often does, thanks to some ESRB information that has a rating for this portable version of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Whether this is an all-new game or a port of an earlier Mindscape title doesn't seem to be clear right now.

I must confess I never really played the games as a child, but my brother and I certainly enjoyed watching the cartoon series. I also have to agree with my colleague Mr. Burch -- she would get it, and I would simply have to administer it.

I remember playing an old, mostly text-based Carmen Sandiego game on my Mom's company laptop back in like 1993. The thing weighed 100 pounds and had a shitty black and white screen that you could probably break if you sneezed too hard. I'm sure the game was crap, but back then it was the raddest thing ever. It was probably the first puzzle/adventure game I ever played.

With all that said, I don't believe I have any interest in playing another Carmen Sandiego game.

Um I am totally just as excited as Anthony for this. I LOVE me some Carmen Sandiego! I was even her for Halloween last year. :D So definitely thanks for posting about this, Jim!

I used to watch the game shows based on it. I don't think anyone ever won either version.

Heh, I used to watch the show as well. Damn you Jim, now the stupid gameshop theme song is stuck in my head...

"Where, in the world, is... <deep voice> CARMEN SANDIEGO!"

My singing may be horrible, but at least the picture used above makes her look kinda hot.

Hahahaha...this very well could be a purchase for me. One of the schools that I attended actually had a Carmen Sandiego Club. I was in seventh grade, amusingly. XD

The cartoons were great. This game will most likely suck though.

I have Where In Time etc. on the NES. When it comes time to catch Carmen, there's a bug where you can go to any location except the one you're supposed to go to and she'll appear.
