Where do you store your console controllers? Me? Anywhere I can. I have this closed shelf in my living room that holds some. In my office there's a basket on the floor that holds more. In my closet there's a bucket of the less used things, like Mario Kart Wii wheels and SingStar mics. Beyond all of that, there's several controllers that are "on display," sitting out in my living room, on the fireplace mantle and on end tables. I'd guess that if I weighed them all, I'd have about 50 lbs of game controllers, and I'm not counting anything like Rock Band or Guitar Hero.
I know you all are in the same boat. I wonder if any of you have any better storage ideas. Laboratory 424 has an idea, though I don't know if it's a "better" one.
They've hung their controllers on the wall, much like a recording studio would do with their cables. Wall clips hold whatever you throw at them, and is ready to re-hold your controllers when you're done. Also note that games are stored on disc mounts stuck to a poster. These are pretty neat ideas, but they don't account for volume. I'd need many walls for these controllers, and I'd need bigger clips for the really big stuff. And the games? This poster thing would never work. And where to you put the boxes and instruction manuals?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Nowadays I just have it all laying on the floor though, aside from my one Beatles edition guitar, because it's special (And pricey) and therefore deserves to not lay on a mountain of Strats and Explorers.
It's not pratical but the discs on the wall is a pretty cool display thing. Artsy.
The discs are also a bit impractical.
Nothing really inventive there.

I ask myself this every time I walk into Gamestop and see a wall full of generic used PS3 and 360 cases.
Where do I store controllers? Wherever the hell I can. I'm still stuck living at home in a room that is pretty much filled with random crap I've accumulated over the years. Every time I buy something, I have to move things to find room for the new things.
Sadly, many many people store them in those CD sleeve books that usually end up scratching the hell out of discs.
older stuff is in the closet since it's not used as frequently (except those snes controllers!)
Now ask me where I keep my crucifix collection.
I keep all of my controllers in a drawer in the coffee table. I use a CD wallet to hold all of my Disc based games.
"Why would you ever store a disc in anything other than the case it comes in? "
Because they are ugly, bulky and unpractical. I hold 50+ games in the space I could usually hold 5 or 6. This makes room for all my Master System and NES cartridges. The only reason I keep them out is because there isn't really anywhere else to put them and I need the cases to keep dust out of them.
All CD/DVD cases get slung into the crawl space under my stairs with the vacuum cleaner, toolbox and dismembered baby limbs.
